The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 2600+ skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, project Management, functional system testing, installation supervision, documentation and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest Operations hub. The India Operations Centre team at Chennai, Bangalore and Gurugram supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Hitachi Energy To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.
Mission Statement:
As a role of Tender Manager for HVDC Control & Protection system, you will join an aspiring team that works with the HVDC Power transmission links. It is a diverse and independent job to lead the tender group, with lots of responsibility and you will have great opportunities to develop your skills within HVDC. HVDC C&P department is responsible for offering the Control & Protection, SCADA design solution & FST execution to tender submission. The key responsibilities include Tendering management, Dow alignment, time schedule alignment, cost calculation, risk and opportunities, deviation handling, coordination with tender supply chain & documentation team, customer interactions, discussions and negotiations over the C&P scope of delivery, coordinating with internal & external stakeholders to able to submit the solution to end client.
Arrange the tender team based on the (B&P) needs and seek the competences resources to the deliverables.
Execute the HVDC C&P scope of Tender (cost, time schedule, deliverables) submission within an alignment to Bids & Proposal expectations.
Allocate the responsibilities to each domain leads and distribute work among them, clarifying responsibilities and expectations.
Monitor and reports progress of tender deliverables and perform continuous follow-up on scope, deliverables and time schedule.
Drive customer interactions, discussions and negotiations over the C&P scope of delivery.
Coordinate & communicate clearly to all internal & external stakeholders within C&P scope of tender objectives, the delivery milestones, the time schedule.
Identify contractual risks and deviations with suggested mitigating actions.
Handle the Temporary Sales Approval for the additional solution required to customer specification.
Propose ways to optimize tender cost and tender time schedule.
Ensure to secure the material availability and initiate the procurement-based project execution timeline forecast.
Taking Initiative in tender management execution process optimizations, standardization, improvement, etc.
Follow up the specification changes and ensure the change communication to all stakeholders.
Coordinate the stage gate internal quality review to ensure the preferred base solution offered.
Coordinate the C&P scope of packages with Service & commissioning team to ensure the Dow.

Your background:
Have bachelor’s degree in electrical & Electronics Engineering or Equivalent with a minimum work experience of 8-12+ years in Control & Protection project lead or tendering management in full scope delivery.
Self-starter caliber who could own tasks through to completion.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
AC Control & Protection schemes, relay testing, testing protocols.
Power System fundamentals, Relay module & cards, Interface part, Testing method, Safety Standards, Industrial product knowledge.
