As a Technical Project Manager III at JP Morgan Chase within Asset and Wealth Management Technology, you will help lead complex technology projects and programs that drive business goals and create value for clients, employees, and stakeholders. Applying a broad knowledge of technical principles, practices, and theories is essential to developing innovative solutions, along with leveraging analytical reasoning and adaptability skills to navigate through ambiguity and change. Your strong communication abilities will enable you to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring alignment on project objectives and governance. By optimizing resources and managing risks, you will contribute to the successful delivery of high-impact projects that shape the future of the firm.


Job responsibilities


  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, incorporating technical requirements, resource allocation, and timelines to ensure timely and successful delivery of technology projects
  • Working alongside the Delivery Leads and Product Owners in Business to frame and refine ongoing and overall strategy for the products in the space.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing potential roadblocks and implementing risk management strategies to minimize impact on project outcomes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software development, quality assurance, and business stakeholders, to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals
  • Utilize technical fluency to evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, platforms, and vendor products for project implementation
  • Monitor project progress, adjusting plans and schedules as needed, and providing regular status updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and effective communication throughout the project or program lifecycle
  • Partner closely with Technology managers to understand and make sure content is consistent with communication objectives related to Technology’s vision and objectives, plus assist in implementing communications tactics.
  • Execute sound communications campaigns to showcase our leading edge Technology initiatives both internally and externally.
  • Initiate and manage communications projects that further promote our bank’s Technology branding.
  • Help ensure effective communications globally, as needed, in coordination with broader Wealth Management (or Private Banking) organizations.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Expertise in technical program management, leading complex technology projects and programs in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applying analytical reasoning and problem-solving techniques to break down business, technical, or operational objectives into manageable tasks and activities.
  • Experience in Agile project management methodology and experience with Jira dashboard management.
  • Proven experience leading through the project lifecycle management, including influencing decision makers and adapting to changes as business needs evolve
  • Strong technical fluency, with familiarity in current and relevant platforms, software tools, and technologies
  • Proficient in stakeholder management, with a track record of establishing productive working relationships and driving mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills.
  • Excellent at relationship building with sound judgement, and ability to effectively engage with a diverse set of internal stakeholders.
  • Self-starter, with ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team and contribute on a strategic and tactical level.
  • Understanding of the financial services industry, and general understanding of technology.
  • Proficiency with SharePoint, Microsoft Office, Adobe and similar applications.
