We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.


In this role, you will:


  • Define programme objectives / goals in line with Business & Technology Product strategy
  • Plan & budget for annual book of work in close liaison with relevant Business & IT stakeholders.
  • Develop & maintain high-level plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for each project within the programme.
  • Support Project Manager(s) to accomplish successful delivery of underlying projects within specified time & budget with quality.
  • Embed agile and lean values and principles, guide teams, measure outcomes, and advocate for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor project progress, course-correct when needed and report to stakeholders on status, milestones, and risks.
  • Ensure post release support model is in place & resources are trained to support the service.
  • Ensure all service introduction activities are completed.
  • Manage programme financials and highlight financial risks & challenges if any
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate programme / project risks.
  • Escalate critical issues / blockers to the IT Sponsor at right time and work towards resolving those.
  • Act as the SPOC for HSBC Connect for providing right information and associated data about the state of the programme & underlying projects.
  • Ensure the design approach for each project is in line with our strategy and complete from scalability, resiliency, security & performance standpoint.
  • Facilitate communication among different teams involved in the programme.
  • Encourage a mindset of experimentation, resilience and be able to think outside the process when needed. Advocate for modern value delivery approaches, not just in your team but across the wider organization.
  • Build and motivate teams, foster a positive working environment, and tackle challenges using an agile mindset
  • Identify and address inefficiencies (both inside and outside the team), coach teams (across the organization) on process improvement and implement new workflows.
  • Manage programme strategy and the programme approach for the cenetre of innovation programme, which joint between HSBC, Microsoft, and other technical partners in Inida to co-build the industry lead solutions and patterns in the Low Code No Code platform.Assist business stakeholders with the decomposition of complex business requirements into Epics and User Stories that can be delivered by Technology teams via respective backlogs with minimum cross product co-ordination.
  • Define and create effective programme and sprint plans using group standard tools, with the commitment and buy in from all team members. Delivery, governance & reporting to stakeholders including the Product owner in the business, head of a service line or Product within Technology. Produce effective programme progress reports to keep management apprised of project status, major issues, scope changes, resource changes and milestone achievements or misses.
  • Lead, facilitate and chair regular project meetings and follow up with team members as required to focus on business and operational issues or technical issues, documenting, assigning and monitoring all project issues to ensure clearance with minimal impact to project progress.  Provide input to Steering Committee Meeting. Ensure that problems are managed at their level, and escalated efficiently with senior management and keep the minimum disruption to the business. Adopt and share standards, tools, best practices, principles for cost, quality and productivity improvement.
  • Drive the use of Agile methodologies within Technology teams (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Lean) in line with corresponding transformation frameworks at the bank. Ensure Technology programmes align to HSBC strategies and contribute to towards achieving strategic aims. Maintain effective and good relationship between the business and the IT Project team, managing appropriate business expectations and negotiating compromise where appropriate.
  • Ensuring that all Technology practices and associated tools are being adopted and adhered to within the Programme. Manage programme budgets, including headcount and software delivery capitalisation. Manage negotiation with and management of, and service agreement monitoring of third party contracts with Technology suppliers. Maintain good exposure and develop knowledge in new techniques, products, services, technologies and standards.
  • Manage the development and promotion of the technology portfolio and project management practices. Work across business and technology to establish effective controls, procedures and quality assurance processes for the product in line with the Business Transformation Framework and HSBC Risk and Controls framework.Develop a good level of understanding of the appropriate business systems of the Group and their associated IT project management requirements.
