About the Role: 


The Technical Program Management (TPM) team is responsible for driving process, organization, and communication to improve engineering efficiency and effectiveness as we scale. As an early member of the software TPM team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our engineering organization, defining best practices, and improving execution. You’ll own quarterly and sprint planning, execution, and delivery, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and impact.


As a TPM, you will oversee the successful delivery of technical projects, ensuring they meet business requirements, timelines, and quality standards. You will work closely with engineering, product management, and design to drive execution, remove roadblocks, and enable teams to deliver efficiently. You will also help foster a culture of continuous improvement across the engineering org by coaching teams, refining processes, and ensuring high visibility of work.


 


What You’ll Do: 


Strategic Planning & Execution:
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to define quarterly and biannual planning, roadmaps, and objectives.
  • Translate business priorities into detailed project plans with clear milestones, dependencies, and risks.
  • Manage project execution, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with company goals.
Cross-Team Coordination & Stakeholder Management:
  • Facilitate collaboration between engineering, product, and design to drive decision-making and trade-offs.
  • Ensure teams stay aligned, unblock bottlenecks, and drive high-impact outcomes.
  • Provide clear and consistent updates to leadership and stakeholders on project health, risks, and mitigations.
Risk & Issue Management:
  • Identify potential risks and proactively mitigate them before they become roadblocks.
  • Work with engineering leadership to manage technical debt and dependencies.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement:
  • Lead and optimize agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives, and demos.
  • Ensure accurate team capacity tracking and visibility into work using project management tools.
  • Drive data-driven insights into team velocity, predictability, and efficiency.
  • Lead retrospectives at the quarter and project level to extract key learnings and drive improvements.
Coaching & Leadership:
  • Mentor engineers, EMs, and PMs on best practices in planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Champion a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For: 


  • 5 to 7  years of experience in Program Management. Prior technical experience or a technical degree is recommended
  • Strong technical background or familiarity with software development, system architecture, or cloud technologies.
  • Ability to lead and coach without authority
  • Ability to gain meaningful insights from data and create an action plan
  • Capacity to work in a fast paced, continuously changing environment - You’ll jump in wherever you can
  • Strong experience with agile methodologies. CSM or PMP certification is a bonus.
