Tech@Lilly Software Product Engineering (SPE) team is a specialized engineering group that delivers strategic solutions and differentiated capabilities. We take a forward-thinking approach, focusing on an enterprise platform and product mindset, ensuring that the solutions we build can be leveraged across Tech@Lilly teams for broader impact and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide deep leadership and coaching in the project delivery lifecycle. Focus on shared learning, continuous improvement and drive adoption of best practices
Demonstrated interpersonal skills, teamwork and people development
Provide mentorship to accelerate the development of solution architecture and technical expertise, specific to the Tech@Lilly environment
Expert in Software architecture design patterns and the ability to select based on needs and budget. Understand the business processes being supported by the team
Coach and develop team members through performance management, development planning, promotion and career plans; represent those team members in talent discussions.
Resourcing - continue the team growth through selection techniques, testing and interviews.
Organize your work within an Agile team & Knowledge on Sprint ceremonies (Planning, Estimation, Execution, Reporting & highlight Risks & Impediments)
Identifies synergies and reuse opportunities to improve efficiency
Identifies and drives proof of concepts for emerging technologies at Lilly and helps team prepare for the adoption of these technologies
Key Skills:
Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, critical thinking, collaboration and decision-making skills
Possess a positive and energetic attitude, with a view to moving the business forward
Strong self-management and ability to work in ambiguity
Experience leading highly motivated engineers, with specialized skills and diverse functional elements.
Understanding and knowledge of software development life cycle methodologies (such as agile software development and DevSecOps)
Understanding and knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
Understanding of software architecture, design principles to guide the development team
Required Experience:
Minimum 5 years of management of a team or teams, should be able to lead a team of around 12+ people
Minimum 10 years of total experience
Proven track record in capacity management and project estimation
Strong background having breadth of experience and technical knowledge
Lead teams to rationalize, optimize and support applications for maximum speed and scalability with industry best practices
Proven experience leading a team in a regulated industry including but not limited to, understanding regulations, SOPs
Preferred to have experience / interest related to Pharma domain
Preferred certification in one of fields PMP, PMI, PRINCE II, Safe , CSM, SEI etc
Technical Role Objective:
Proven development experience with Python, React or other Python-based frameworks
Experience working with Microservices/Service Oriented Architecture Frameworks
Experience in working in Scrum - agile methodologies, coding standards, programming, code reviews, source management (GitHub Actions), build processes and Jira
Experience with cloud platforms AWS and Azure
Work in tandem with our engineering partners to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the company
Define and document best practices and strategies regarding deployment and infrastructure maintenance
Build effective relationships with business areas, strategic vendors, and key delivery partners and group to share expertise and seek opportunities to reuse internal processes and services, so we can streamline implementation and support of key systems
