Lead System Solution Engineer for MCO Equipment
Thales India Engineering Competency Center (ECC) in Bangalore is seeking a technical lead Engineer for MCO equipment, to be part of MCO engineering team. In this role you will be in charge of Engineering activities to demonstrate the compliance and functionalities of equipment in front of Design Changes with same form-fit-functionalities. You establish the Change Impact Analysis, and perform the Simulation, analysis and verification activities.
Context of Design in MCO activities for FLX Cockipit and Computers,
After the first certification of our Equipment's, during serial production and support phases, our equipment are regularly submitted to Design Changes. These Design Change involving partial redesign, are mainly due to obsolescence treatment, necessary correction to solve critical PR (Problem Report).; or enhancement improvement of equipment capabilities. These design changes vary from minor changes (component change with limited impact) to more significant change where all the safety, qualification, and certification information have to be re-assessed regarding airworthiness regulation, all the Design Changes must be submitted to customer approval before release. Our Equipment's are Computers (as Flight Control, Flight Management, Display, Interactivity Control Panel, Head up Display). Our team is focused on Hardware Changes (electronics, packaging).
Qualifications:
Equipment engineering or equivalent with 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in aeronautic. Higher qualifications of post-graduation is desirable. Domain experience in civil Avionics design is desirable.
Responsibilities:
Establish Impact Analysis of electronics Design Changes
Understand the applicable documentation basis (from specification to IVVQ and safety BOM data package).
Propose the validation plan.
Build the Simulation/analysis, and establish the entire necessary demonstration to obtain our PDA (followed by Customer) approval,
Prepare all the customer satisfactory certification documentation (expected example) and reviews.
Perform the complementary testing and IVV at equipment level.
Coordinate with stakeholders and specialists in a collaborative manner for
Electronics Engineers when boards or FPGA are modified.
Packaging: Environmental testing when Qualification test are repeated
Test Bench and Means: industrialization & Production Support, Acceptances Tests in manufacturing.

Skills & experience:
Must have strong knowledge in Electronics (analog and digital) design and development.
Should be able to analyze electronics circuits individually.
Should be able to select alternate electronics components (Active, Passive and Connector) individually.
Should be able to read schematic, Bill of materials and Layout file.
Must have high awareness of Airworthiness, Aeronautic Safety requirements and standards. ( as per ARP4761 or ARP4754 )
Must have strong experience with aeronautic standard (DO-160 environment , DO-254, ARP4754, ARP4761; APQP)
Must have strong experience to troubleshoot on electronics and embedded hardware systems to find the root cause and to fix with a suitable solution.
Must have experience in interfacing with external test facilities for environmental and EMI/EMC and other electrical tests as per MIL-STD and DO-160 standards.
Should be familiar in developing Qualification Test procedures (QTPs), Qualification Test Reports (QTR), Qualification by similarity reports (QBSR) and other documents required by airborne certification authorities.
Must be fluent with on Configuration Management data package (Build of Materials, Definition File, Identification, Design Change Rules) Must be fluent with tools and data repositories: as BDDP and PLM/TOL/GED
Experience in establishing Design Documentation (Requirement, IVVQ procedure, reports)
Should be familiar with mechanical drawings, wiring diagram reading and understanding.
Should be familiar in Industrialization, Production process, Testing, (Acceptance test, Screening testing) ideally experience on APQP
Should be familiar in the IVVQ (Integration, Verification, Validation and Qualification) including requirements management.
Must have good experience in bench test set-up, functional testing and performance evaluation
Should be familiar with project progress reporting, ensure KPI’s reporting and Risk/opportunity assessment.
Must have demonstrated leadership skills on complex topics.
Must be rigorous, organized, autonomous, pro-active and motivated to contain a position within a multidisciplinary team.
