Title : Technical Lead Engineer – Crusher
Division - EnSci (Weir Minerals)
Location - Bangalore, Hybrid
Purpose of Role: To support the Crusher Technology Group (CTG) in executing crusher product design projects for comminution and associated mineral processing systems. The role involves ensuring that engineering deliverables meet relevant design requirements (e.g. specifications, standards, schedule, etc.) with hands-on experience in new product development (NPD) process which includes stage gate processes like discovery, feasibility, development, verification, validation and product launch. Along with DFMEA / PFMEA principles to simply manufacturing and assembly, reduce costs and improve product quality. Proficiency with NX , Teamcenter and Microsoft tools software's.
Responsibilities:

Adhere to all safety protocols, outlines and reviews safety procedures on performing experiments, handling instruments, operating equipment, etc
Executing Crusher equipment development projects and improvements in NX using Teamcenter PLM
Conduct simulations and prototype testing to assess product performance, reliability, and safety.
Prepare comprehensive technical documents, including designs, instructions, and specifications.
Conduct and write up literature reviews and publications
Mentor engineers by providing guidance and feedback.
Visiting to site as needed to support commissioning / trail / field issues.
Review, approve, and create mechanical engineering drawings and specifications.
Independently handle customer communications, make decisions, and identify risks.
Analyze existing product design, develop product functional analysis, identify areas of enhancement, product standardization and continuous improvements for existing products.
Support the implementation of product stewardship initiatives and advance knowledge in technical & product safety documentation.
Skills and Knowledge:
Possess deep knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including heat transfer, thermal design, and structural mechanics.
CAD tools such as UG NX / Solidworks – Intermediate level
Simulation tools such Ansys Fluent and Computational Fluid Dynamics – Intermediate level.
Matlab / Labview – Intermediate level
Familiarity with various manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, forging, hot and cold extrusion, and cladding.
Proficient in GD&T for creating drawings and performing stack-up tolerance calculations.
Strong grasp of design principles, analytical calculations, and relevant product standards.
Proficient in using Microsoft office applications.
Knowledge about Crushing Work Index calculations, Material science, Crusher capacity calculations is added advantage
Experience:
12 – 15 years of domain experience in similar role with relevant Industry experience.
Hands-on experience in the new product development (NPD) process, including stage gate processes like discovery, feasibility, development, verification, validation, and product launch.
Apply DFMEA/PFMEA principles to simplify manufacturing and assembly, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
Skilled in product risk assessment to proactively manage risks, ensuring safer and more reliable products.
Education and Qualifications:
Four years Engineering degree with or Masters or PhD with specialization within minimum 12years of work experience in Crusher product designs or similar product designs
