FT RPD, as Siemens’ central research and development arm, has a critical role to play here. Under the leadership of the Chief Technology Officer and in partnership with the operating units, FT RPD develops Siemens’ technology and innovation strategy, builds and industrializes basic technologies, promotes business perfection through consulting and engineering services, and protects the company’s intellectual property. FT RPD is both a creative driver of innovative innovations and a partner to the Siemens businesses, offering them high quality research, development, and consulting services.

You’ll break new ground by:

Being Part of a Research and Development team, you will architect, design, and develop prototypes and technology demonstrators with a very high quality to solve contemporary and emerging critical business challenges related to Industrial Edge, Edge Computing, HMI Panels, SCADA Solutions etc. Following is (but not limited to) your core business expectations:

• Architecture: Architect end-to-end solutions for our customers as well as business units
• Research: Bring your ideas related to the relevant fields, file Patents
• Hands-On: Work hands-on on developing prototypes
• Customer Centricity: Effectively execute projects, comprehensively analyzing requirements by constant discussion with customers.

You’re excited to build on your existing expertise, including:

• Master/bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in software development with a strong grasp of one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, GO, C++, Java).
• Architecting on AWS for cloud-local hybrid solutions
• Experience with IaaS, SaaS, PaaS deployment
• DevOps, Docker, K8s
• Nginx, Linux, IoT, Microservices, Networking
• Chef, Puppet, Terraform, Ansible, Virtualization & Security
• Design patterns, Architectural patterns, Linux, Messaging protocols
• Proficient in data structures and algorithms.
• Experience in software design and architecture.
• Knowhow of IoT (Internet of Things) or IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of Edge Computing/Siemens Industrial Edge
