Focus on designing, delivering solutions for dynamic environment with differing scenarios and requirements.ROLE SUMMARY:Senior technical design authority role, responsible for the architecture of data storage systems aligned with organizational goals.Key accountabilities will be product evaluation, storage solution design, and overall roadmap aligned with Organizational transformation priorities.WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:Requirements gathering, research and solution design of enterprise level storage systems.Overall responsibility for data storage and protection roadmap including continuous reevaluation and recalibration.Identify resiliency gaps including cyber/security, proactively suggest solutions and implement.Present solutions to Executive forums and stakeholdersWork closely with a multiple array of technical, business and 3rd party teams to deliver results.Documentation of designs and refinementArticulate storage infrastructure capabilities and translate business requirements into technical requirements, and ultimately, into outcomes that are fit for purpose and use.Techno-business expert and thought leader in key element(s) of the technicalAnalysis, definition, design, construction, testing, installation and modification of properly engineered information systems to meet agreed business needs.Analysis, research and evaluation of alternative solutions, and serving as subject matter expert between the business and IT organization. Ensuring storage architecture supports the execution of critical business applications and develops high-level continuance plans in the event of a lapse in the architectural infrastructure.Implements the balance between business and technology, and defines the design and architecture governance function, signing off governance architecture / design against well-defined standards and best practices.Perform technical analysis, due diligence and recommendations for acquisition or strategic partnership targets, leading efforts on smaller acquisitions.Responsible for technology design and development and be involved in the development of hardware and software life-cycles involving close collaboration with vendors’ technical teams.Involves the evolution and development of hardware and software lifecycles for all deployed Storage elements across multiple vendors and infrastructure domains.Define standards and sit on standards forums with Architecture and Engineering, external bodies and collaborate internally within LSEG governance forums.WHAT YOU'LL BRING:Solid architectural level understanding of all areas of enterprise storage - block, NAS, object - and backup/data protection systems is a must.At least 15 years of experience working in the data storage subject, with a good level of understanding of the interfacing and function of other inter-connected IT systems such as servers, virtualization layers, databases, and public cloud.Conceptual knowledge of below is essential with the ability to provide high level designs. Low level technical knowledge with ability to provide low level designs and guidance to others would be beneficial.Enterprise block storage technology: Dell, Pure, Hitachi, NetappEnterprise NAS technology: Netapp, Dell, Pure, HitachiBackup and data protection technology: Rubrik, CohesityDisaster recovery of above technology: Hitachi GAD/TC, Dell SRDF, Dell SyncIQ, Pure ActiveCluster, Netapp SnapMirrorGood awareness and knowledge of emerging technology and trends in data storage domain is a must.In-depth understanding of business continuity plans, disaster recovery of systems and services, recovery time and point objectives and their practical implementations is essential.Experience in cost calculations, evaluations, and control of storage or other IT systems as well as any other prior work done on budgeting in any capability is desired.Excellent understanding of governance and compliance frameworks for storage systems would be beneficial.A working knowledge of public cloud technology such as AWS, Azure and their relevance to storage technology is desirable.A working knowledge of cyber and other security measures and their implementation in storage systems would be beneficial.An up to date understanding of regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, DORA and their organizational impact would be desirable.Any prior skills in tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, Grafana, ELK would be an added advantage.Excellent oral and written communication skills, together with good interpersonal skillsStrong presentation skills: ability to deliver presentations and optimally communicate at all levels within an organization.Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders including team members, business users, 3rd parties, project managers, senior leadership and answer in-depth questions, accept constructive feedback, and modify work product accordingly.Experience in producing and rapidly delivering minimum viable solutions, results focused with ability to prioritize the most impactful work.LSEG is a leading global financial markets infrastructure and data provider.
