Role & responsibilities:
- Lead architecture and design of a next-generation cloud-based SaaS platform for digitally delivered life insurance.
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to build secure, scalable, high-performance backend systems.
- Drive efficiency improvements across the SDLC — from system design (HLDs/LLDs) to CI/CD and code quality enforcement.
- Mentor and guide developers on architecture best practices, secure coding, and performance tuning.
- Design database schemas and build integrations with 3rd party systems (REST, SOAP, XML/JSON).
- Work closely with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to ensure reliable and compliant delivery (HIPAA, AWS stack).
Candidate requirements:
- 10+ years of hands-on coding experience in production environments.
- Strong expertise in system design, data structures, algorithms, and architecture planning.
- Expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, and frontend/backend frameworks (React, Angular, Node.js).
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, SaaS models, and microservices.
- Skilled in CI/CD pipelines, profilers, APM tools, Docker, and AWS services (S3, EKS, EC2, RDS).
- Comfortable with test-driven development, abstraction layer creation, and mentoring junior engineers.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills in a startup-style, agile environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or equivalent.
