What does a successful Tech Lead, Software Development Engineering do at Fiserv?


As a Tech Lead in Software Development Engineering at Fiserv, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing innovative financial technology solutions. You will lead a team of talented software engineers and ensure the development of high-quality, secure, and scalable applications. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to meet industry standards and our clients' evolving needs. This role is an individual contributor role within our organization.


What you will do:


  • Lead and mentor a team of developers to build and maintain enterprise-level applications.
  • Architect and design product components on the ASP.NET platform, ensuring robust security features.
  • Implement and oversee best practices for audit controls, user access, and database security.
  • Conduct architecture, design, and code reviews, providing technical leadership and mentoring.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, QA, architecture, and product management teams to ensure alignment with methodologies and best practices.
  • Provide development and maintenance support to QA, implementation teams, and business units.
  • Participate in software estimation, planning, and risk assessment, establishing technical vision and evaluating results.
  • Stay updated with new technologies and methodologies to adapt and implement in projects.

What you will need to have:


  • 6+ years of experience in application development on .NET, relational databases, and distributed n-tier application platforms.
  • 6+ years of experience with ASP.NET, C#, WCF, and expertise in synchronous and asynchronous programming techniques.
  • 4+ years of experience with JavaScript, JQuery, AngularJS, HTML, CSS, XML, and MVC.
  • 4+ years of experience with web services, SOAP, and REST.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, and/or equivalent military experience.

What would be great to have:


  • 2+ years of experience in defining and implementing the security architecture of enterprise applications within the .NET family.
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL Server and other relational databases.
  • Knowledge of tools and testing approaches such as AppScan, Burp Proxy, Sonar, and Coverity.
  • Experience in the printing domain.
  • Extensive experience in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies such as Agile/Scrum and waterfall.
  • Ability to gather requirements, translate them into technical design, and guide teams through implementation.
