Department


You will be part of Manufacturing Operation-India, Global Supply Chain, Cement who supports Capital and Service for Materials, Warehouse & Logistics. By joining this team, you will have the chance to work in an international environment involving different cultures and different challenges. This department works closely with both our internal and external customers to ensure FLSmidth equipment’s on time delivery and customer satisfaction. You will be located in the Arakkonam plant.


Role


The Team Lead-Pfister Assembly role at Arakkonam involves a crucial role in the manufacturing industry, ensuring that assembly operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position is pivotal for maintaining the quality and timely production of products.


Your Responsibilities:


  • Overseeing the assembly of products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Scheduling and coordinating staff shift and production cycles.
  • Training new staff on assembly techniques and safety regulations.
  • Monitoring the efficiency and output of the assembly line and making necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborating with other departments such as Engineering, procurement, logistics, and quality control to ensure a seamless production process.
  • Maintaining records of production volumes, assembly times, and staffing issues.
  • Implementing continuous improvement strategies to enhance assembly processes and reduce costs.
  • Responsibilities include managing staff, coordinating assembly schedules, maintaining equipment, and enforcing safety regulations.
  • Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to employees.
  • Submit reports on performance and progress.
  • Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standards.
  • Adheres to FLSmidth HSE policy.

Key Accountabilities


  • Adheres to production schedules and coordinates with material requirements.
  • Lead and motivate a team of production workers and technicians to achieve daily and defined objective goals. 
  • Direct corrections (corrective action) of any manufacturing problems that may arise; work with Quality Manager in development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). 
  • Promotes a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company’s operational activities.

  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of any ERP knowledge is a must, the experience in Oracle ERP system will be an advantage.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office suiter.

Education Qualification


Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.


Experience


5-10 years’ experience as Assembly Supervisor in Heavy Industries or similar role. Experience in Feeder kind of manufacturing is preferable.
