Responsibilities:



  • Indirect Tax Compliance


    We are seeking an experienced indirect tax professional to join our growing team.


    As a compliance senior, you will be a part of our indirect tax compliance team which has talented and dedicated professionals who provide quality compliance services across a wide variety of industries and tax jurisdictions through use of technology to improve reporting and compliance


    Your key responsibilities as a senior will be for coordinating tax compliance work for clients. You will be working with a group of talented and innovative professionals dedicated to client service.


    Prepare indirect tax returns and other indirect tax filings (included but not limited to the following)


    • Goods and services tax (GST)
    • Harmonized sales tax (HST)
    • Provincial sales tax (PST)
    • Quebec sales tax (QST)
    • Registration of non-resident taxes for GST/HST and QST
    • Saskatchewan, Manitoba and British Columbia consumption tax PST
    • GST claim back/tax credits


  • Prepare indirect tax account reconciliations.
  • Contribute to client satisfaction by providing clients with quality, timely and responsive services, and work products.

Required Qualifications:




  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or closely related field from an accredited college or university


  • CPA, CMI, JD or LLM required


  • Minimum of 8 years of experience providing sales and use tax consulting services in a public accounting, consulting or law firm


  • Possess thorough knowledge of a variety of state and local sales and use tax laws, regulations, policies and procedures, as well as tax planning, restructuring, due diligence, audit defense, reverse audits and state controversy work




  • Ability to work closely with clients to answer questions or to collect necessary information for tax service requirements


  • Effective verbal and written communication skills


  • Ability to travel up to 25% (note travel requirements are currently limited)




Preferred Qualifications:



  • CPA, JD or CMI


  • Enrolled Agent/CPA Certificat are Mandatory for Manager


  • Project management and critical thinking skills


  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize multiple assignments
