Tableau Specialist and Database Administrator

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator and Tableau Specialist with over 7 years of experience in database administration and management, combined with strong knowledge of Tableau. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining database systems, ensuring data integrity, and creating insightful dashboards to support business decision-making processes.

Overall Responsibilities:

Database Administration:

• Manage, monitor, and optimize database systems to ensure high availability and performance.
• Implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data.

Data Management:

• Ensure data integrity and security across database systems and manage database users and permissions.
• Troubleshoot database-related issues and perform system upgrades to improve functionality and performance.

Tableau Development:

• Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Tableau, transforming complex data into actionable insights.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver tailored data visualizations.

Performance Tuning:

• Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to enhance query performance and system responsiveness.
• Analyze data retrieval methods and improve efficiency in reporting processes.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers and analysts, to support data requirements and initiatives.
• Participate in project planning and execution related to database and reporting solutions.

Skills and Experience:

• Tableau Proficiency: Strong knowledge and experience in using Tableau for data visualization and reporting.

• At least 7 years of experience in database administration and management with expertise in the following:

  
  
  • SQL Proficiency:Strong command of SQL for database querying and modification.
  • Database Technologies:Hands-on experience with one or more database management systems (DBMS), such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
  • Performance Tuning:Experience in performance tuning, indexing, and optimizing database queries for improved efficiency.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in creating, modifying, and maintaining database schemas and stored procedures.
  • Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies and implementation in production environments.
  • Understanding of security configurations and user roles, implementing best practices to protect data integrity.

• Data Integration:

  
  
  • Familiarity with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools that feed data into reporting systems.
  • Experience in data modeling and data warehousing concepts is a plus.

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues effectively.

  
  

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
