Amazon Traffic Engineering is with the mission to provide managed secure, resilient, and performant traffic connectivity solutions between Amazon’s customers and internal services. We provide safe, automated, intuitive tenant lifecycle management enabling discovery, edge, network and unified authentication experiences for services in Amazon’s Consumer business (Retail, Amazon Video, Kindle, Amazon Subsidiaries and more) to accelerate innovation in the Cloud.
Successful candidates will improve the quality, consistency, maintainability, performance, and security to help solve Amazon’s most difficult problems at an industry leading scale.
- 5+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby experience
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with distributed systems at scale
- Experience building tools for building, testing, releasing or monitoring
- Experience defining system architectures and exploring technical feasibility tradeoffs
- Experience in communicating with executives to describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in mentoring, leading, or managing more junior engineers
- Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering
