Could you be the full-time Telecom Design Engineer in our Urban/Mainline projects department we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your comprehensive technical expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated and innovative teammates.
You'll contribute to the design of state-of-the-art Telecom sub-systems for our transport projects, ensuring they meet customer requirements and project objectives. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Project Managers, System Solution Leaders, Interface Managers, Civil Contractors, etc.), crafting design documents and liaising with vendors for various Telecom sub-systems and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of participating in design workshops with customers, securing approvals in line with project milestones, and supervising and supporting the Testing & Commissioning (T&C) team, but also interfacing with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and concluding design documents with customers.
We’ll look to you for:
Building know-how of Alstom products and processes
Adhering to technical processes and standards
Accurate and on-time reporting
Ensuring Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) is as per Work Package (WP) commitments
Designing solutions for Telecom projects and closing design documents with customers
Participating in technical workshops with customers
Supervising and supporting the T&C team

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
Minimum of 10 to 12 years of relevant experience in the rail Telecom domain or IT/Telecom industry, with at least 5 years in Metro projects
Experience in designing various Telecom sub-systems to meet customer's design, operational, and functional requirements
Knowledge of developing interfaces of Telecom with other systems like Signalling, Rolling Stock, etc.
A systems thinking mindset/acumen
Resilience and flexibility to work on multiple projects simultaneously
The ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into architectural and design documents
Effective communication skills
