Hitachi Energy India Development Centre (IDC) is a research and development facility with around 500 R&D engineers, specialists, and experts, who focus on creating and sustaining digital solutions, new products and technology. This includes product integration, testing, cybersecurity, and certification.  The India Development Centre is situated in Chennai and Bangalore.
IDC collaborates with the R&D and Research centers of Hitachi Energy, which are spread across more than 15 locations throughout 12 countries. In the past 20 years, IDC has secured more than 200 international papers and 150+ patents.


Mission Statement:


You will be part of Hitachi Energy, Operational management of a Solution Verification and Validation Center (SVC) in Bangalore, India, as part of the global Hitachi Energy SVC organization.


Your Responsibilities:


  • Planning and tracking of verification and validation activities with full resource allocation and budget responsibility for the location.


  • Reporting and regularly communicating progress to the global SVC lead and product management.


  • Maintaining and appropriately communicating organizational information to team members (e.g., department meetings, one-on-one meetings).


  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing the testing team technically and professionally to reach the milestones defined by the global SVC organization.


  • Preparing and executing steering committee meetings and reporting towards the global SVC Lead.


  • Supporting the SVC operation technically with your expertise in Substation Automation and IEC 61850.


  • Ensuring mutual consistency and efficient integration of several subsystems in modular, easy-to-maintain, and extendible software that meets product specifications.


  • Defining test concepts and test specifications for system level in close collaboration with the global SVC team and product management.


  • Ensuring the test strategy and process framework are always up to date and aligned with global V&V principles.


  • Creating high-quality guidelines and concept descriptions that support our worldwide system integration units in efficiently executing their customer projects.


  • Improving existing test techniques to constantly enhance testing processes and Hitachi Energy’s substation automation systems and components.


  • Planning and coordinating the implementation of the test environment (e.g., laboratory equipment, licenses, tools

Your Background:


  • Bachelor/Master in IT or Electrical Engineering or technical diploma (TS/HF).


  • At least 5 years of experience in engineering, testing, or commissioning of substation automation systems with IEC 61850.


  • Solid knowledge of testing approaches and processes with a focus on System Integration (preferably ISTQB Foundation Level certification).


  • Experience as a line or project manager, preferably within the substation automation domain, is a plus. The position is also suitable for a candidate who wants to develop in this direction.


  • As a true leader, you support your team in executing operational tasks and enable them to approach new technologies and solutions. With your visionary and driving personality, you drive and ensure the implementation of the business strategy defined by the global V&V organization.


  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
