Job Summary:
The Sustainable Procurement Analyst is a role located in our India office.  This individual will be assisting with analyzing, monitoring and improving the sustainability performance of the Northern Trust organization’s procurement process and supply chain.  The individual will be a change agent working in a fast paced environment to support the effort of aligning the organizations decisions with environmental, social and economic sustainability goals striving to minimize the environmental impact of the organizations supply chain.


Key responsibilities of the sustainable procurement analyst include:
• Conducting supplier assessments to evaluate their sustainability performance and compliance with environmental and social standards.
• Assisting with adherence to policies and practices to promote ethical sourcing and reduce the organizations carbon footprint.
• Collaborate with suppliers to promote sustainable practices including reducing waste, energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
• Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators related to sustainable procurement, such as supplier diversity, ethical sourcing and carbon emissions.
• Identifying opportunities for improvement in the organizations procurement process to enhance sustainability performance.
• Engaging with internal stakeholders, including procurement teams and senior management, to promote sustainable procurement practices and build awareness of sustainability issues.
• Assist with keeping up to date with local and international sustainability trends in procurement and supply chain management.
• Providing recommendations and guidance on sustainable procurement strategies to support the organizations sustainability goals.
• Executing special projects and/or process improvement initiatives
• Identifying improvements to existing processes to further gain operational efficiency and productivity.
• Preparing / reviewing reports and analyze to determine impacts, issues, and opportunities. Provide KPIs and metrics. 
• Develop, present, and execute ad-hoc products
• Liaise with business units and stakeholders on occasion as point of contact
• Develops category sourcing strategies and overall supplier relationship(s); providing input to pricing discussions
• Carries out activities with financial, vendor, and/or internal business impact


Qualifications and skills required for a sustainable procurement analyst include:
• A Bachelors or masters degree in supply chain management, procurement, sustainability or a related field.
• Strong experience with Excel, Power BI and other technology.
• Knowledge of sustainable sourcing practices and environmental regulations.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and research skills, with experience in supplier assessments and audits.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to engage with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Familiarity with sustainable procurement frameworks, such as ISO 20400 or Fair Trade is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for sustainable procurement and a commitment for promoting ethical sourcing practices.
• Experience in procurement or supply chain management is a plus.

Experience:
• A College or University degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or Finance and three to four years relevant work experience and knowledge of Sourcing or Procurement.
• Financial analysis and modeling experience required
• Ideal candidate should have a Finance almost forensic accounting type work experience that has analytics and metrics as key responsibilities.
