What is the Supervisor – Investment Operations - Investment Ops Brandywine Group responsible for?
  • The securities Operations team supports the creation, maintenance, and oversight of securities and related analytics data.  This includes security master, analytics, valuation, corporate actions, and proxy voting.  The candidate will correspond with and interact with Trading, Compliance, Client Service, Technology and other internal teams at Brandywine Global, as well as with vendors and other third party data providers. Participation in meetings directly related to these tasks is expected.


What are the ongoing responsibilities of a supervisor – Investment Operations?

Essential Job Functions:


  • Mentor and assist in the training and oversight of new employees


  • Ability to determine, escalate and resolve process and market data exceptions without additional supervision


  • Maintain and update security reference data on multiple platforms including the accounting platform & Order Management Systems used by the firm.


  • Adhere and exercise firm valuation policy and procedures


  • Process day-to-day securities pricing, pricing challenges due to outliers, corporate actions data feeds, and security master file and analytics integrity, investigating any exceptions, raising issues to the appropriate stakeholders


  • Liaise with Pricing Vendors, Operations, Performance, Investment Teams and Traders, Valuation Council & Custodians to create solutions to complex challenges


  • Govern the Proxy Voting process, working within the proxy system as well as directly with front office personnel and legal teams


  • Work within established processes to communicate voluntary corporate actions with the front office teams as well as custodians and process within the accounting platform & Order Management Systems


  • Assist with oversight of benchmark providers, engaging in exceptions as well as sourcing and implementing new data when necessary


  • Maintain all valuation related documentation and supply such information for internal and external audits/inquiries in a timely fashion


  • Update and manage securities analytics values within the accounting platform in accordance with Brandywine's approved analytics hierarchy.


  • Constantly improve data quality frameworks and best practices


  • Assist in user acceptance testing, documentation, implementation, data quality processes, and controls


What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
  • Proactive team orientation, with strong oral and written communication skills


  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and fast learning skills


  • Ability to problem solve within complex processes and communicate solutions to a broader group


  • Experience with various security types including pricing, analytics and corporate actions


  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision


  • Must possess a high attention to detail to recognize discrepancies


  • 7+ years experience working with equity, fixed income or derivatives markets and financial data


  • Leadership experience in an office setting preferred


  • Strong knowledge of investment products and services and information systems


  • Experience in Back or Middle Office Operations with an emphasis on securities markets


  • Knowledge of various securities processing platforms


  • Knowledge of fixed income instruments and valuation inputs


Work Shift Timings - 8:30 PM - 5:30 AM IST
