Introduction
As a Service Delivery Specialist, you are the face of IBM for our customers. Your clients’ success depends on your ability to understand their needs and respond to requests for new services. This role is an integral part of both account planning and delivering support strategies, working to proactively monitor problems, change processes, and handle issues to ensure our customers success.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Storage/Backup Admin – Level1, you will be placed at customer location and will have to demonstrate expertise in Storage/backup domain along with related H/W and S/w devices. You will be involved in troubleshooting and operational maintenance of Server and software. You are expected to work on Infrastructure/ OS /Software. Virtualization, solutions based on any vendor hardware /vendor operating system with little or minimum support from superiors. E.g. include: Skills on Storage/TSM. Typical examples of the other deliverables would be of deploying, managing and implementing Storage/TSM solutions to address client business requirements.

Responsibilities:


Should have relevant experience as System administrator, repair & maintenance with knowledge and expertise on the Storage, Storage software and Backup application. To ensure performance of the Storage infrastructure systems


  • Good understanding of SAN/ NAS Products Monitoring of the SAN/NAS devices for availability
  • Perform storage user administration.
  • Perform disc quota and rights or permission administration
  • Configure port setting and port zoning Coordinate with the hardware vendor for addition, deletion or modification of RAID configuration
  • Perform physical disk management.
  • Create and map Logical Unit Numbers (LUN) and volumes to different servers based on the inputs provided
  • Configure and allocate the required storage capacity based on inputs provided.
  • Hands on Experience in Lun Creation and Mapping
  • Hands on Experience in SAN Zoning
  • Good knowledge in SAN Switches
  • High availability set-up – configuration and administration
  • Troubleshooting and managing of ISCSI and FC SAN environment.
  • System administration experience in data centre environment handling multiple domains.
  • Knowledge on ITIL processes like Incident management, Problem Management and Change Management processes.
  • Configure Storage Volumes (Tape Library, Drives, Disk Storage Unit / VTL), Deduplication
  • Troubleshooting skill on backup software’s and storage related components and applications.
  • TSM related activities for DC, DR and for DR Drill.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise


  • Experience in IT infrastructure projects, planning, implementation, and administration across multiple domains, as well as experience in end- to-end IT Operations.
  • Experience: Candidate should have minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the similar environment.
  • Experience in support of Storage/backup devices and applications.
  • Monitoring the entire IT Infra of Servers, Storages, SAN Switches.
  • Good knowledge on virtual environment.
  • Configure, Manage and troubleshoot various administrator roles as described above.
  • Should be able to update/upgrade firmware’s/drivers on any of this hardware and software. Should have good experience in implementation and troubleshooting of complex issues.
  • A general understanding of Networking technologies.
  • Ability to lead related to IT changes, IT setup and new process setup by coordination with multiple arms of IT team.
  • Demonstrate Problem Solving & analytical skills in IT Infrastructure domain both IT hardware & software / applications Experience in projects, planning, implementation, and administration in multiple domains


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise


  • Graduation/Btech engineering. Relevant Certifications preferred.
  • Reporting and analysis of day-to-day tasks.
  • Working with all regional DC/DR teams and field support teams to drive the issues to closure.
  • Preparing SOP of all the Tasks, activities and break fix issues. Sharing knowledge base and other details on periodic basis with the team and other associates.
  • Ability to manage all tasks assigned by Project Manager & client with in the time limit. Should be disciplined and adhere to all the guidelines.
  • Documentation skills for generating process and procedure documents for preparing required reports and presentations.
  • Be Part of all Technical discussions and review the changes to be implemented. Preparing Root Cause Analysis.
  • Working with respective OEMs and derive the calls to resolution
