STEM Content Specialist

Your Team:

We are looking for a Molecular Biology STEM Content Specialist to join our Systems Biology team (Spain, Chennai, Hyderabad). This is an amazing opportunity to work on MetaBase database supporting several products and services across Clarivate. The team consists of 16 people across Spain and India (Chennai and Hyderabad) and this role reports into the Systems Biology Senior Team Manager. We have a great skill set in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, toxicology, and pharmacology, with complementary skill sets to address challenges in biomarker discovery, target identification, drug repositioning, and network biology. We would love to speak with you if you have molecular and systems biology skills.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments  

• At least 5 years of Laboratory research experience in Biology/Biotechnology/Medicine or related Biomedical Sciences.
• Strong background in cellular and molecular biology processes, with basic knowledge of human pathology.
• Good scientific research and analytical skills, with attention to detail. High ability to interpret and explain large amounts of data.
• General computer proficiency (MS Office) and ability to quickly learn new software tools.
• Proficient in English. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Action-oriented and proactive having good organizational skills
• Capable of managing complexity and making decisions

It would be great if you also had . . .  

• PhD and/or Post-graduate in Biomedical sciences
• Experience with pathway and network analyses.
• Experience in databases and relationship models.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team of diverse collaborators.
• Fluency in SQL, R, and /or Python.
• Experience or interest in AI and automation

What will you be doing in this role? 

• Deep analysis of the scientific literature to define the molecular and cellular mechanisms of normal and pathological processes.
• Support automated workflows and identify improvement opportunities across different Systems Biology processes, particularly Molecular Interactions.
• Execute SQL queries to automatically identify and correct database errors based on Editorial policies.
• Use scientific expertise to verify the work of colleagues and external contributors for accuracy and completeness and ensure that the information is properly presented and organized in our Systems Biology database.
• Act as a Molecular Biology expert within the department and guide colleagues in interpreting scientific literature and other sources of scientific information.
• Maintain and develop scientific knowledge and skills training as required to complete work and stay current on scientific trends and developments related to the employee’s editorial responsibilities.
• Take initiative by raising, discussing, and resolving subject matter and production issues.

About the Team

• We are a global, high-performing synergistic team of 16 members including STEM Associate, Content and Senior content analysts, and STEM Principal and Senior content specialists making up the Systems Biology team.
• Our flagship database is MetaBase, which further powers other Clarivate products and data services to help customers quickly and accurately analyze multi-omics data. Also, content is delivered to other products as CDDI or OFF-X
