Job Description: SRE - Cybersecurity


Position Title:Associate Speciali


Experience: 6 to 12 years


Location: Pune, Bangalore


Software Requirements:


  • Cybersecurity Knowledge:


    • Strong understanding of security postures across applications, infrastructure, and networks.
    • Experience with compliance, audits, and risk management frameworks.
  • Customer Engagement:


    • Proven ability to independently execute customer-facing roles to understand SRE requirements.
    • Experience in team building and driving implementation of SRE practices.
  • Proposal Development:


    • Hands-on experience in preparing RFPs and proposals.

Overall Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies to enhance security postures across applications and infrastructure.
  • Engage with customers to gather SRE requirements and translate them into actionable plans.
  • Assist in building and leading a high-performing SRE team focused on cybersecurity.
  • Drive the implementation of security monitoring and observability practices.
  • Facilitate incident management processes, including conducting blameless post-mortems to identify root causes and preventive measures.

Category-wise Technical Skills:


Monitoring and Observability:


  • Proficiency in tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Fluentd, ELK (Elastic Search, Logstash, Kibana), and TIG (Telegraf, InfluxDB, Grafana).

DevOps and CI/CD:


  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools.

Programming Languages:


  • Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript.

Optional Skills:


  • Software engineering and development skills in languages such as .NET, Go, Python, C++, Ruby, or Java.
  • Familiarity with software delivery platforms such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, and/or Spinnaker.

Incident Management:


  • Knowledge of incident management frameworks (L1/L2/L3) and experience in facilitating root cause analysis.

Experience:


  • Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
  • Proven track record of working in customer-facing roles and managing security-related projects.

Day-to-Day Activities:


  • Monitor security events and incidents using observability tools.
  • Engage with customers to understand their SRE and cybersecurity needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security best practices and solutions.
  • Conduct incident management activities, including maintaining documentation and facilitating post-mortems.
  • Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and industry best practices.

Qualifications:


  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Soft Skills:


  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for business engagements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide team members.
  • Adaptability to changing technologies and evolving security landscapes.
