Position Summary
As an IT administrator located in Thales India, you will be responsible for production servers and infrastructure components lifecycle. Interact and deal with other Thales internal entities and 3rd party suppliers for systems hosted both on-prem and Cloud-based, Windows operating systems and domain solutions (DHCP, DNS, NTP, etc.), hardware maintenance and others. Ensure the solutions have a good backup plan in the case of a need for recover. Documentation of processes, work instructions and forms is part of the role as well as perform internal training to other members when needed.
Essential Functions / Key Areas of Responsibility
- Troubleshooting servers (on prem and cloud-based) and infrastructure related issues;
- Ensure good backup and recovery solutions are in place and working as expected.
- Dominate Active Directory and Group Policies Objects manipulation.
- Dominate DHCP, NTP, DNS, SMB/NFS, job scheduling, systems process monitoring, LDAP, certificates management, etc.
- VMWare dominance and other virtualization tools knowledge.
- Provide logs to analyze data if necessary to next support Level.
- When needed, support the other Thales Teams to test, integrate and validate proprietary applications in a testing and production environment.
- Support/implement new solutions in compliance with cybersecurity, external audits and other aviation entities. Working closely with Security team to ensure adherence to these standards.
- Support/update servers (from firmware to operating systems) and infrastructure components (on-prem and Cloud-based) according to internal and market’s best practices.
- Microsoft Windows server’s family lifecycle support (from installation to decommissioning)
- Work with the incident management and problem management teams to find root cause and propose definitive solutions for recurrent issues faced in daily operations.
- Use the ticketing tool and manipulate support tickets for daily activities.
- Provide KPIs (Key processes indicators) to higher level management
- Ability to create procedures and organize trainings to others teams.
- Ability to understand new technologies and products concepts through internal or external training and self-study of documentation.
- Providing support and training to others when needed.
- Writing and maintaining proper documentation of the critical processes and systems
- Work with other teams in projects.
Minimum Requirements: Skills, Experience & Education
- Experience on configuring solutions (GPOs, User management, Operating systems, DHCP, AWS Route 53, etc.), creating process and procedures to attend cybersecurity and market’s best practices.
- Understand the components of proprietary solutions and its interactions with the infrastructure in order to proper address issues.
- Develop procedures and process for troubleshooting and prepare training material on market's best practices.
- Experience to analyze, test possibilities and suggest improvements on current environment targeting cost and performance efficiency.
- Experience on supporting other team members for the creation of proper documentation, task lists and project plans.
- Experience on solutions trend analysis to proper recommend, develop and implement improvements in the environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information technology or 5+ years of experience in the IT infrastructure field.
- VMWare operating system family advanced knowledge.
- Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure advanced knowledge.
- Microsoft Windows family advanced knowledge.
- Storage devices advanced knowledge (MSAs, 3PAR, Synology, and/or others).
- Skill to work under pressure and deliver activities and projects on time.
Preferred Qualifications
- ITIL v4 Foundations
- MCSE (retired, but desired certification)
- Negotiation and leadership skills.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to left and carry a minimum of 25lbs.
- Must have the ability to use a variety of hand tools to test/replace PC components.
- Must be able to perform repetitive motion with wrists, hands and fingers for 6 hours per day (up to ¾ of the day)
Special Position Requirements
- To be on call and perform remote support on weekends and non-regular hours based on a pre-defined agenda.
