The Senior Specialist, Employee and Labour Relations will be responsible for managing and enhancing employee relations programs and activities, ensuring that the organization adheres to legal and regulatory requirements, and fostering a positive workplace culture. This role acts as a liaison between management and employees, addressing concerns, facilitating resolution of disputes, and collaborating on policy development.
Key Responsibilities
- Employee Relations Strategy:Develop and implement employee relations strategies that align with organizational goals and foster a positive work environment.
- Conflict Resolution:Serve as a resource for management and employees regarding conflict resolution and employee grievances, providing expert advice and support.
- Policy Development:Collaborate with HR colleagues and management to create, review, and update employee relations policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and best practices.
- Training and Development:Design and deliver training programs for management and employees on employee relations best practices, conflict resolution, and effective communication
- Compliance:Monitor compliance with labor laws and regulations, conducting regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
- Communication:Develop communication strategies to inform and engage employees regarding HR policies, labor relations, and organizational changes.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:Analyze employee relations data to identify trends and areas for improvement, preparing reports and recommendations for management.
- Consultation:Provide consultation and guidance to HR staff and management on complex employee relations issues, ensuring best practices and legal compliance.
Qualifications
- Education:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labor Relations, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant certification preferred.
- Experience:Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in employee or labor relations, preferably within a large organization;
- Knowledge:Strong knowledge of employment laws, labor relations practices, and conflict resolution techniques.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across functions and build strong relationships.
