Sr. Software Manager (Fullstack)

Philips Emergency Care is looking for an exceptionally talented and motivated Software Development Manager with experience in managing teams in an Agile development environment. In this role, you will lead a team of highly motivated and talented software engineers working on cutting-edge software applications. You will be responsible for planning, staffing, managing priorities, and recommending and implementing changes in development methodologies. Your ability to drive innovation forward at a fast pace is essential for success in this role.

In late January, we announced that Bridgefield Capital signed an agreement to acquire Philips’ Emergency Care business which includes leading brands and products like HeartStart AEDs, Intrepid and DFM100 monitor defibrillators, Tempus monitor and Tempus ALS systems, and Corsium and ECI informatics solutions. We expect the transaction to close at the end of 2025.  

With Bridgefield’s support and building on our 40+ year legacy of growth and innovation in emergency medical technology, the Emergency Care business will continue passionately pursuing our mission of saving lives, lowering the cost of healthcare, and advancing the science of resuscitation while serving the public access AED, EMS, military, and hospital market segments. 

Your role:

• Identifying, hiring, and building a world-class team of software engineers to execute the organization’s strategy.
• Providing clearly defined success criteria and levels of accountability for individuals in the team.
• Performance management, competence management, and enhancement of team’s capabilities.
• Creating processes that allow the team to collaborate with local as well as global teams with a high degree of efficiency. 
• Instilling best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and delivering high-quality work on tight schedules.
• Cultivating a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.
• Uses state-of-the-art technologies and practices compliant with Philips Software Center of Excellence and Reference Architecture (HSRA).
• Keeping abreast of technical developments and practices in own field through literature, courses/trainings, technical contacts, as well as conforming to best practices in cybersecurity.
• Applying agile software development methods as a member of agile teams.
• Working closely with software architects, product owners, product managers, and project/program managers to ensure software artifacts comply with architecture direction, constraints, SLAs, SLOs, business requirements, and project schedules.
• Process compliance, quality, and regulatory aspects of the development.
• Assisting in the refinement of backlog and system design practices ensures development delivers to business and platform requirements.

You're the right fit if:

• BE/B. Tech/MCA with an overall experience of 14-16 years in Software development.
• Strong people management skills with proven experience in managing medium-size software teams and implementing software engineering best practices
• Managing complex R&D project(s) with stakeholders in different geographies
• Demonstrate flexibility in working across different time zones to ensure seamless collaboration and project execution.
• Strong knowledge of software development best practices, with a focus on cloud applications built using the .NET framework (C#), React, and Angular.
• Exposure to Android and iOS development, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of modern software ecosystems.
• Demonstrates enterprise mindset and platform thinking.
• Experience with large-scale 24/7 production environments.
• Working experience in Agile/SAFe development methodologies
• Expertise in estimation and planning for the creation of useful, reliable, and practical plans for software development projects
• Knowledge or experience working with public cloud providers like AWS, Azure
• Strong interpersonal skills, communication, attention to detail, and initiative.
• Strong drive and focus on software quality, process, and customer oriented.
• Passion for facilitation and empowerment
• Encourages and supports the personal development of each individual and the development of teams
• Ability to inspire teams, generate enthusiasm, and bring in software excellence.

Following experiences are nice to have but not mandatory

• Medical devices or solutions knowledge
• Experience in software project deliveries in healthcare/regulated environment

How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
