Job Description

Operations & Infrastructure builds, operates and maintains best-in-class IT infrastructure services that are secure, scalable, and continuously available.
For Visa to deliver on the vision of the best way to pay and be paid for everyone, everywhere, the Product Reliability Engineering (PRE) team will provide best-in-class infrastructure and applications services that are secure, scalable, continuously available, and run on software-defined infrastructures. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile, the list goes on and is growing every day.


Specific Responsibilities include:


  • Provide level 3 24x7 application support for mission-critical applications including investigate issues and problems and provide root cause analysis based on application behavior and log data.


  • Support applications hosted in Linux/Docker/Kubernetes environment


  • Utilize basic scripting skills to generate log output based on support requests and issues


  • Work with multiple teams to determine the mitigation and resolution solutions for issues and problems.


  • The ability to perform follow-up items in areas for continuous improvement


  • Gauge the scope and criticality of the impact of issues to properly categorize and prioritize.


  • Identify and raise concerns with upcoming changes to management and senior support leads


  • Responsible for the ongoing maintenance, security and availability of several applications based on business requirements and adhering to tight operations, security, and procedural models.


  • This position requires a dynamic, hard-working, and ambitious individual, with excellent oral and written communication skills.


  • Assist in change management processes and improve the efficiency and help standardize current processes.


  • Create and update operating procedure and training documentation as needed


  • Work with some supervision and assist teams in day-to-day activities


  • Perform identified proactive activities designed to promote a trouble-free production environment.


  • Work cross organizationally to ensure problems are solved promptly and effectively.  This includes escalating to the appropriate senior team members and next level management in a timely manner.  


  • Analyze Incidents to identify problems and assist in determining areas for improvement.  Execute plans to implement appropriate changes


  • Provide recommendations to management team to increase effectiveness of organization and technology solutions


  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership skills along with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills


  • Willing to work as a team and take responsibilities where needed.


Additional information


  • Work Hours This position requires the incumbent to be available during core business hours.


  • Travel Requirements This position requires the incumbent to travel for work less than 10% of the time.


  • Mental/Physical Requirements This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.



Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
-2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of r
relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
-3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2
years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD,
MD)
-Experience on Redhat version of Kubernetes, Docker and Openshift.
-Basic level knowledge on Akamai, Active-Active setup Application, Apache,
Tomcat, WebSphere, IBM-IHS web server and LDAP.
-Knowledge and experience with Linux and UNIX.
-Minimum 4+ years’ experience in Production support working in a globally
distributed team supporting applications in Core Java, J2EE, Spring, REST,
AngularJS
-Working experience on Java, J2EE and Perl Script technologies.
-Experience in working with Db2 UDB and Oracle DB’s, DML/DDL SQLs and
Stored PROCs
-Intermediate knowledge on Cloud and VM ware infrastructure.
-Intermediate knowledge on Load Balancer, TCP layer architecture.
-Strong knowledge of Ansible and YAML scripting.
-Should have a technical and business mindset
-Knowledge of Block Chain functionality to support Kafka, Zookeeper.
ISO 9000 and ITIL experience will be advantageous.
-Experience with Service Now and ticketing workflows is preferred.
-Working experience with monitoring tools like Opera, Splunk, Netcool or any
other monitoring tools/processes will be advantageous
