The International Private Bank (IPB) is undertaking a major, multi-year, multi-million-dollar transformation initiative. The programme will change almost every part of the platform from back office to front office, in order to deliver a modern solution that enables the business to scale. 


The International Private Bank Architecture & Engineering team plays a vital role in driving forward the technology strategy. To support this transformation the team is expanding to provide global coverage and is establishing a strategic footprint in India. We are looking to add a Senior Principal Architect to our team to establish and lead the new team in India to enable our business to deliver the ambitious platform modernisation agenda, and meet our objectives and responsibilities as part of the wider Asset & Wealth Management Architecture function. 


As the Senior Principal Architect, you will be responsible for establishing a new team in our strategic India location and integrating that with the global team. You will posess a proven track record of implementing a data strategy and as such will have have great communication skills and the ability to motivate and encourage positive change by engaging with all levels of an organisation, and the presence and partnership required to engage with senior leadership. You will have expertise in creating, manage, and maintain an accurate Current & Target state architectures and roadmaps for your application portfolio from your hands-on experience a large financial services environment. You will leverage your experience in various domains such as Wealth Planning & Advice, Client Onboarding, Portfolio Management, Trading & Order Management, Client Performance Reporting, Investing, Lending, Banking. You will utilize your in-depth knowledge of data architecture applications, processes, and product management to guide multiple complex projects and initiatives, make key decisions, and drive innovation to achieve the target state architecture goals.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Establish the IPB Architecture & Engineering teams new strategic location in India and integrate with the global team
  • Create, manage, and maintain an accurate Architecture Current, Target state, and Target State Roadmaps for your application portfolio
  • You will be a business domain expert and understands the business strategy and the technical capabilities that must exist to realize the desired business outcomes and will be responsible for functional, data, application and technology architecture.
  • You will influence product owners and guide application teams to create and maintain business process flows for their portfolio.
  • Responsible for the data domains, data products and data models for their portfolio in partnership with product owners, data owners and application teams 
  • This role demands thought leadership and excellence across various dimensions, including strategic thinking and action, change management, driving results, effective communication, and leadership. 

Required qualifications, skills & capabilities


  • Wealth Management technology experience working across Wealth Planning & Advice, Investing, Lending, Banking with cross-asset experience including Fixed Income, Equities, and Alternatives (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years applied experience with strong proficiency in software development methodologies, architecture frameworks, design patterns, testing and operational stability
  • Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience establishing vibrant engineering communities and guilds
  • Expertise in one or more programming language(s), applications, and architecture disciplines
  • Demonstrated prior experience influencing across functions and teams to deliver modern architecture
