The Role


As a Piping Designer with Worley,you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience.


  • Develop detailed piping designs, including layout drawings, isometrics, and material take-offs, based on project requirements, P&IDs, and engineering calculations.
  • Collaborate with process engineers, piping stress engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the efficient and safe design of piping systems.
  • Incorporate design considerations such as pressure, temperature, fluid properties, and stress analysis results into piping layouts.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI) in all piping design activities.
  • Review and interpret P&IDs, equipment specifications, and vendor drawings to integrate piping systems with overall plant designs.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, and interdisciplinary meetings to optimize piping layouts and resolve design issues.
  • Coordinate with procurement and construction teams to support the procurement of piping materials and the installation of piping systems.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, PDMS, or Plant 3D,SP3D to create and modify piping drawings and models.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior designers and drafters as needed.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in piping design to enhance project execution and efficiency.

About You


To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:


  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Design, or related field.
  • Proven experience of 5 - 12 years working as a Piping Designer in the oil, gas, or power industry, with exposure to both greenfield and brownfield projects.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, with experience in 3D modeling preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of piping design principles, materials, and components, as well as relevant codes and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve design conflicts and optimize piping layouts.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with project management processes and procedures is advantageous.
  • Experience with laser scanning and point cloud processing technologies is a plus.
