Job Overview

We are seeking a talented PHP Developer/Lead to join our dynamic team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PHP development and be proficient in integrating front-end and back-end technologies to build high-quality web applications. You will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and maintenance of our applications, while ensuring adherence to industry best practices.


Software Requirements
  • Develop, test, and maintain web applications using PHP and related technologies.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure optimal performance.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
  • Work closely with database administrators to design and implement database solutions.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to apply best practices in development.
Overall Responsibilities
  • Ensure robust, scalable, and secure applications.
  • Facilitate and lead discussions within the development team.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to their development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Technical Skills

Core Skills


  • Proven experience as a PHP Developer or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of PHP frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter).
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX

Database Management


  • Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Understanding of database schema design and optimization.

Version Control & APIs


  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.

Security & Best Practices: Knowledge of web security practices and protocols.


Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in PHP development.
  • Up to 12 years of experience in relevant fields is acceptable.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role is preferred.
Day-to-Day Activities
  • Develop and implement features for web applications based on user requirements.
  • Review code from peers and provide constructive feedback.
  • Attend daily stand-ups and participate in sprint planning and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with database administrators on optimizations and queries.
  • Research and integrate new technologies or frameworks to enhance productivity and performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in PHP or software development are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Joomla).
  • Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work.
