The Sr. Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the mechanical architecture, design, integration, test, and transfer to manufacturing of acoustic liquid handling systems.

This position is located at the Beckman India Development Center (IDC) in Bangalore, India and reports to the Sr. Hardware Engineering Manager and is part of the Biotech Workflow Solutions Business Unit located in San Jose, CA and will be a remote role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Design and develop creative, cost-effective frames, chassis, enclosures, high precision linear, rotary and material handling mechanisms, and fluidics/pneumatics sub-systems that are reliable, manufacturable and serviceable.
• Use a phase-gate process to drive designs from Requirements through Production Release, including the associated procurement (RFQ and order), test, documentation, training and ECO work.
• Participate on a cross-functional team with people from a number of time zones.

The essential requirements of the job include

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering with long-standing experience
• Mechanical Design of capital equipment, including motion systems, sample handling, pneumatics, frames, chassis and enclosures.
• Experience with PLM systems and product configuration management, including the creation of drawings, BOMs and other supporting engineering documents using MS Office, creation and tracking of ECOs. Strong preference for experience with Arena PLM.
• Create and execute Feasibility, Verification and Reliability plans, tests and reports.
• Perform FEA to determine stress, strain, deflections, reaction forces and thermal effects using SolidWorks Simulation
• Perform NPI activities to ensure smooth handoff to manufacturing.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
