The Project Engineering team is responsible for the Mechanical & Piping designs of Water & Wastewater treatment plants and ZLD systems with advanced technologies. In this role, the Sr. Mechanical Designer will deal the South Asia projects to carryout planning and delivery of basic engineering viz., P&ID, PFD, HFD, layout etc., & detailed engineering designer works related to mechanical & equipment engineering, Civil and Structural design, Piping, Pipe support engineering and detailing ensuring quality. He/she will be responsible for optimized layout preparation and pipe routing etc. If it is any risk, he / she proactively communicate with LPE’s for suitable action.

Essential Responsibilities

15+ years of experience in a related engineering field - experience in water & wastewater treatment systems is preferable.

• Develop conceptual PFD, PID, HFD & Layout with little guidance for ITO & OTR.

  
  

• Responsible for As-built P&ID drawing preparation.

  
  

• Support Project Engineer Group as required. 

  
  

• Support Mechanical Design Group as required.

  
  

• Basic Knowledge of Water & Wastewater systems for technology requirements viz., SUF, MBR, RO, EDI, EDR, ZLD, Desalination and Chemical dosing systems.

  
  

• Co-ordinate with Lead Engr. & Cross function viz., Mech., Elec., Inst., Piping & Controls and finalize Basic Engg. Documents.

  
  

• Implementation of VWTS standards or customer standards as per project requirement for Legend, Equipment tagging philosophy, Pipeline numbering system etc.,

  
  

• Application knowledge on type of valves & Instruments for the intended service.

  
  

• Layout & area GAD’s preparation suitable for Civil / structural shed designs along with platforms, puddles, drains, eqpt fdn.’s concrete tanks, metallic GAD’s drawings along with sections etc

  
  

• 2D piping layout with sections and isometrics preparation & checking is preferable.

  
  

• Knowledge on various piping MOC & standards is preferable

  
  

• Piping BOM preparation.

  
  

• Smart PID & plant 3D knowledge is an added advantage

  
  

• Review of civil design drawings inline with input and considering its impact in the designs through LPE.

  
  

• Review of 3D model inline with PID & troubleshoot concerns if any

  
  

• Knowledge on above technology related chemicals & its system requirements will be an added advantage.

  
  

• Prepare the Pipe schedule, piping material specs, pipe service matrix, equipment list, Valves (Auto/Manual/control etc.,) etc., as required.

  
  

• Focus continuously on objectives viz., Value Engineering, Lessons learned, Cost incurred due to miss in Engineering phase etc.,

  
  

• Standardization for Basic Engg.

  
  

• RFQ preparation for std. eqpt.’s

  
  

• PR preparation in SAP

  
  

• Effective participation in Basic Engineering design reviews and Hazop

  
  

• Site visits & site issues resolution for project technical requirements in the designer deliverables.

  
  

• VWTS systems including ISO-9001 requirements

  
  

• MDL preparation & its planning / Scheduling of his/her deliverables in coordination with LPE.

  
  

• Brown field project handling in the past is an added advantage.

  
  

• Implement learnings effectively.

  
  

• Experienced with applicable National / International codes (UBC, ISO, ASME, ASTM, DIN, CSA, Indian Standards)

  
  

• Hands on experience in engineering & analysis in large MNC's and Engineering Consultants

  
  

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects within a fast-paced environment

  
  

• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with the project design team.

  
  

• Self-motivated as well as team player, can work with minimum supervision

  
  

• Excellent communication skills with ability to interface with clients, suppliers, and co-workers.
