How will you do it?
What you will do
In your role as a Transition Manager, you will be responsible for project related to broad cross section of
Johnson Controls teams spread globally.
• Defining project tasks and resource requirements; developing detailed project charter, project plan and
transition plan depending on solution complexity, priorities, and deliverables
• Responsible for transition methodology and milestone review process
• Work with various support functions like Finance, HR, IT, Admin, Talent Acquisition, Compliance etc. to ensure
operational setup in India
• Lead hiring discussion, ensure adequate team hired well before announcement. Report out hiring progress and
risk/mitigation as applicable
• Lead knowledge transfer activities from planning through execution from the Push locations to IBC
• Responsible for risk management, understand the business & operational risks & develop and execute
mitigation plans
• Responsible for the creation and/or maintenance of project management documents including status reports,
project plans, knowledge transfer documentation, requisite approvals on clarity
• Plan for, conduct and manage relevant trainings to be delivered to the operations teams
• Responsible for project communication and status update for ongoing transitions specific to governance
steering committee, stakeholders, project team member, external resources and senior management etc.
• Maintain positive work relationships with members of other teams in and outside the IBC
• Assist in establishing and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
and ensure stakeholder satisfaction
• Attending/Leading calls / mails from internal & external stakeholders on different queries
• To continuously seek out better ways of performing the project and support process improvement initiatives
• To ensure compliance to applicable policies, guidelines, and regulations
• Publishing periodic project statistics and dashboard
How will you do it?
• Creating transition plans and documents to outline project expectations, scope, schedule, and budget
requirements, as applicable
• Possess hands on experience in project management office (PMO) and be able to perform all activities
within a project independently with minmal supervision and as per the requirement
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Responsible for end to end project deliverables and success
• Hands on experience in managing tollgates
• Conduction kickoff/workshops to provide staff with information on upcoming key deliverables
• Ensuring that transitions are planned and carried out in a timely manner and within budget
• Keeping all parties involved with the transition updated on its progress
• You may be required to prepare adhoc reports and status updates to assist the program
• Sound knowledge of business, ability to break complex problems into simplified achievable milestones
• Perform Root Cause Analysis for any issues raised or identified to avoid any future repetition
• Proactive in identifying issues/challenges/risk to project and develop mitigating actions
• Be proactive and innovate ideas to improve project deliverables, leverage best practices, lesson learnt
• Interaction with Internal and external stakeholders on a regular interval (Daily/Weekly/Monthly) in driving
closure to all open issues in handling queries and escalations.
• Connect with all stakeholders on a regular basis (Briefing/Meetings)
• Ensure actions are closed/responded/escalated within agreed TAT
• Ensure all published reports are correct and errorless
• Contribute ideas and actions towards the continuous improvement of processes within area of influence
• Initiate and support process improvement initiatives and related projects
• Respond to inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders on a timely basis
• Maintain a positive cross functional relationship with other teams
What we look for
Required
o Graduate/ Postgraduate / Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting
o Essential: Over 8+ years of overall experience, preferably in Finance & Accounting.
o Essential: Around 3+ years of experience in Transition/Project Management Office
o Essential: Reporting, Analytical, Communication, Time Management skills & Excellent Presentation Skills
Preferred
o Experience in managing diverse projects such as ERP implementation/migration, CI projects
o Work experience in a Third party BPO/ Captive environment
o PMP, Prince2 certified
o Should be technically sound & be able to co-relate technology to Transition, thereby possessing the ability to
solution where required
o Strong will to deliver excellent quality, able to identify inefficiencies and propose improvements
o Distinctive stakeholder orientation, able to drive independent dialogue with stakeholders
o Demonstrates the ability to work as lead and train others
o Independency - works without supervision on more complex projects
o Self-starter (performance & Quality oriented) and a true leader
o Possess positive mental attitude and be flexible to work under pressur
