Job Description
Role Purpose
To work as part of the Greater China Procurement team to formulate and implement hotel procurement strategies and policy across many of categories of spend.
To work closely with the Great China hotel operating teams to establish and coordinate cross functional work groups through the Sourcing Management Process.
Typically, responsible for spending in the region of $200m, with an expectation of reducing costs by 5-10% with a drive for continues improvement, and spend influenced hotels by 10% in year one and thereafter by 5-10%.
Take leadership role in e-Procurement platform daily management and enhancement, promote to more hotels, starting from Holiday Inn Express hotels all over China, then FS hotels by city or brand.
Take the ownership of cluster purchase champion mechanism, coach and organize the central procurement down to hotels.
Lead Hotel Operation Category team in GC under the leadership of GC BP Director
Key Accountabilities
- To develop and promote solution for hotel opening acceleration to stakeholders, hotels, and owners, such as HOE package and e-Procurement platform
- To take leadership role in the e-Procurement platform development and implementation
- Direct responsibility for a portfolio of hotel operating goods and service categories and supplier relationships
- To adopt the Sourcing Management Process as a structured approach to ascertain the category strategies for their area of responsibility.
- To work in a way that positively engages the support of stakeholders using problem solving, change management and proactive communication skills.
- To work with cross functional teams to create the category procurement strategies, to deliver both quick win and long term savings opportunities.
- To personally and proactively manage all aspects of the request for proposal, negotiation and contracting.
- To proactively manage all aspects of the implementation of new agreements, including the exit and entry of suppliers.
- To ensure that all supplier relationships are set up for future success, with a focus on continual improvement.
- To manage suppliers’ relationship & performance
- To lead cluster purchase champion to enhance the execution power of central procurement
- To coach and work with merchandising team to create compelling offers to deliver best value for our hotels and owners
- To work closely with D&E for MEP and FF&E national solution
- Take initiatives in Global projects or cross-regional projects
- To support Business Partner for the enhancement and improvement of hotel procurement P&P
- Develop team capability and support people development
Key Skills & Experiences
Required Skills
- Competent in Sourcing Management Process, including analytics, RFP process, negotiation and contracting.
- Knowledge of hotel spending categories
- Good communication skills, can manage cross function teams through complex projects to ensure the right outcome, change management.
- Good presentation skills

- Solid finance knowledge

Qualifications
- A commercial based Bachelor degree or above
Experience
- 10+ years minimum in a front line procurement role, preferably in a large blue chip organization.
- 5+ years manager level
