Position Overview:

Infrastructure Controls – The Infrastructure Risk and Control, Database and Storage Domain function plays an important role in preserving and enhancing the foundational strength of Northern Trusts control environment.  In support of the business operating model this function has global alignment which is centrally managed, along with embedded control teams to ensure universal coordination and consistency in delivery. Candidates for this role need to be risk-minded, detail orientated and effective at driving efforts to conclusion.

The Infrastructure Control & Governance function plays an important role in preserving and enhancing the foundational strength of Northern Trusts control environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide stakeholders guidance on identifying key control within the Database and Storage functions.
• Help to drive improvement of the Infrastructure control environment.
• Support Infrastructure Governance team with various reporting requirements as needed.
• Establish working relationships and communications with key stakeholders globally.
• Help to develop, enhance and execute oversight of the Database and Storage control environments.
• Ensure that meetings are effective and deliverables are issued accurate, complete, and provided timely to stakeholders.
• Support in regulatory compliance operations to ensure adequate reporting and timely response to regulatory exams (internal and external regulatory assessments)
• Assist in defining and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPI) against the infrastructure database and storage domain

Required Skills:

• Proven Risk professional with 10+ years of Risk and Controls experience.
• Solid understanding of financial services regulations, risks and controls
• Internal Audit or Risk related Certification (CISA, , CISSP, etc.) is preferred
• Have a detailed understanding and should be a SME on the monitoring tools and Database Platforms – Distributed (RDBMS (Oracle and MSSQL preferred), NOSQL), Mainframe and technology supporting the database platforms.
• Have a detailed understanding and should be a SME on the monitoring tools and Storage Platforms – Dell Data Domain, Hitachi, Cohesity, NetApp and Pure Storage platforms.
• Solid understanding of financial services regulations, risks and controls.
• Internal Audit or Risk related Certification (CISA, , CISSP, etc.) is preferred.
• Highly motivated, self-starter who deals well with ambiguity and can execute effectively.
• Ability to challenge and influence stakeholders of differing viewpoints to reach consensus.
• In-depth understanding and experiences of information security and/ or database audits
• Experiences of GRC systems (e.g., ServiceNow) preferred
• Strong collaboration and relationship management skills, including experiences in executive management relationship
• Innovative thinking and leadership with an ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams
• Highly flexible and adaptable to change in technology
