Lead Infrastructure Engineer responsibilities:
- Partner with internal and external storage service providers to deliver, support, and maintain database solutions including but not limited to Oracle Exadata, standard HW deployment and VMWare.
- Design and manage complex database infrastructure, security, patching and HW health
- Lead infrastructure issue resolution support including problem analysis and development of problem circumvention solutions
- Evaluate operational readiness testing of new and changed infrastructure.
- Ensure infrastructure is managed and operated in accordance to AXP policies and standards including Security compliance
- Utilize and define operational processes and best practices
- Manage service transition of new products and services from operational readiness into the production environment
Midrange Infrastructure Focus:
- Partner with midrange infrastructure service providers to deliver, support, and maintain infrastructure solutions
- Manage capacity, performance and availability of enterprise solutions
- Demonstrate well-rounded technical expertise and understanding of systems architecture designs (hypervisors, Linux / Windows operating systems, databases, systems monitoring tools, basic network terminology, Active Directory, and storage connectivity)
- Lead complex infrastructure issue resolution support including problem analysis and development of problem circumvention solutions. Actively drive corrective actions and prioritize necessary enterprise-wide infrastructure uplifts and process enhancements necessary to improve infrastructure availability
- Govern operational readiness testing of new and changed infrastructure
- Ensure infrastructure is managed and operated in accordance with AXP policies and standards including Security compliance
- Utilize and define midrange operational processes and best practices – ensure all processes are clear and auditable
- Maintain strong working relationships across organizations, vendor partners, and internal customers
- Ability to create cost estimates and forecast financial impacts of new products or solutions
