Job Description:

Summary/Objective


Financial Control Oversight (FCO) is the department within Corporate Finance responsible for SOX / FDICIA compliance, including other certain financial reporting controls.  The senior analyst participates in the planning of the annual reviews and scoping for their assigned portfolio. They will identify process risks, develop testing plans, and assess the adequacy of design and operation effectiveness of controls through testing of complex controls or those deemed necessary due to geographic location of the control owner. The senior analyst will also conduct assessments of identified deficiencies, working with deficiency owners to document any actual or potential impact, determine root cause, develop action plans necessary to remediate findings, and research other relevant facts. This role will be a key member of the India based team and will also provide operational support to the US based team, ensuring seamless continuity across the geographically diverse team. Senior Analysts may also support the creation of operational guidance within Financial Control Oversight. Collaborates and builds strong relationships with the Bank's control executors, external auditors and other key stakeholders.


Duties & Responsibilities


Senior Financial Risk and Controls Analyst will have the following responsibilities:


  • Control Evaluation – Performs fieldwork to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness for assigned controls.  Complete thorough documentation in accordance with departmental standards.  Evaluated the adequacy of deficiency remediation activities. Reviews other team member’s testing plans and test work, as appropriate. Perform transaction testing for data validation and Data quality checks to confirm validity and consistency of data attribute. Identifying high and moderate severity issues and logging them on issue management log and work towards the resolution.
  • Remediation Assessment - Assist 1LOD, 2LOD teams over issues identified as part of Fed exam or Internal Audit assessments.
  • Relationship Development - Builds and maintains influential relationships with multiple levels of management, internal auditors, regulators, and other internal controls assurance functions. Partner with wider 1LOD, 2LOD teams to establish guidance on Internal controls and repository buildup over Key Data Elements (KDEs) of across different financial reports.
  • Risk Mitigation - Investigates and manages key interdependencies that impact SOX/FDICIA risks. Advises manager on the appropriate resolution of identified deficiencies and provides insights that allows for revision to the annual plan.
  • Project Management - Manages assigned work to ensure results meet identified timelines for the assigned portion of the annual plan. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.

Experience Required


Minimum 6 years performing audit work, which conforms to professional standards. Progressive experience in a combination of public accounting (Big 4 or large regional accounting firm) and/or internal audit experience with a background in financial services


Preferred Education and Certification


Masters, CPA, CIA, and/or CA preferred
