Description and Requirements

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Engineer to lead our Facility and Building Maintenance team. This role is crucial in ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective operation of all facility systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building maintenance, engineering principles, and project management.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Leadership & Supervision:
    • Oversee a team of maintenance technicians and engineers, providing guidance, training, and support.
    • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure optimal facility operations.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Conduct regular inspections of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural) to identify issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve complex maintenance problems in a timely manner.
  • Project Management:
    • Plan and execute facility improvement projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
    • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and repair services.
  • Compliance & Safety:
    • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
    • Develop and implement safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Budgeting & Reporting:
    • Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
    • Generate reports on maintenance activities, performance metrics, and project status for management review.
  • Sustainability Initiatives:
    • Promote energy-efficient practices and contribute to sustainability efforts within facility operations.
    • Research and recommend upgrades to improve building performance and reduce environmental impact.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in facility maintenance, engineering, or a similar role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance best practices, and applicable regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management software and maintenance management systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Facility Manager, LEED Green Associate).
  • Experience with automated building systems and smart technologies.
  • Familiarity with energy management and sustainability practices.

Working Conditions:


  • Primarily based in an office environment, with frequent visits to facilities.
  • May require occasional after-hours work for emergencies or project deadlines.
