Sr Director Engineering – HTS R&D Transformation Leader

Transform HTS R&D function to be the growth engine for Honeywell.


 R&D Transformation (RDT) organization at Honeywell Technology Solutions (HTS) India plays a pivotal role in driving Engineering Operations (EOPS) and Program Management (PMO) Excellence, Learning and Talent transformation (L&TT), Process Excellence across businesses, functions and sites with a vision to transform HTS R&D function to be the growth engine for Honeywell. The RDT organization is also responsible to lead the Simulation Center of Excellence (COE) and drive simulation tools and practices for all electrical, electronics and mechanical NPIs to accelerate the NPI launches with superior quality.


 The Honeywell Technology Solutions India RDT Leader is responsible to drive the R&D transformation strategies for HTS aligned to the HTS Strategic plan and Annual Operating Plan (AOP). The RDT leader would apply strong business acumen, technical expertise, domain background, industry engineering experience and regularity requirement to provide leadership and direction to a diverse group of professional engineers working with HTS and global teams to build and support R&D transformation initiatives. The RDT leader will collaborate with the engineering teams including COEs and functional teams to drive the PMO/EOPS Excellence, Process Excellence, Learning and Talent Transformation, Supplier governance and Simulation strategies.


 The RDT Leader reports directly to HTS India Leader with a matrix reporting to HTS Global RDT Leader and will work out of HTS Bengaluru location.


R&D TRANSFORMATION RESPONSIBILITIES


·Lead the Simulation COE for Industrial Automation (IA) and Building Automation (BA) to increase the simulation coverage across new products impacting significant reduction in cost and cycle time during the new product design and development phase.


·Work closely with the HTS India and global engineering leaders including CTOs to institutionalize the simulation practices across engineering teams.


·Partner and influence the Simulation tools vendors and industry experts to bring best practices.


·Collaborate with the Business (SBG) EOPS and PMO leaders to drive PMO and EPOS excellence across SBGs and COEs enabling the >95% Phase Gate5 compliance and meet the AOP goals aligned to HTS Priorities (Growth, Execution, Innovation and Talent)


·Co-own the Program Management (PM) skill development and excellence with the SBG Leaders and PMO leaders for all SBGs. Driving PM leadership development programs across HTS; Develop and implement strategies to drive operational excellence and improve program delivery.


·Collaborate with cross-functional and engineering teams and overseeing the successful execution and delivery of engineering projects, driving operational excellence.


·Oversee the program execution status, launch compliance, and revenue pipeline enabling accelerated product launch and meeting the revenue targets across SBGs.


·Govern the strategic partnership with the HTS preferred suppliers and partners (Vendor Management) ensuring compliance with Honeywell outsource policy and address the operational challenges between the suppliers and HTS.


·Spearhead the monthly and quarterly reviews in collaboration with the SBG PMO leaders for all the Engineering Services partners to ensuing program execution excellence.


·Lead and drive the transformation of the Learning and Talent function including Technical Resource Review (TRR) and University relationship (UR) strategy.


·Develop and implement strategies to enhance learning and development programs
Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth within the organization.


·Execute the HTS India Management Operating System (MOS) (Monthly/Quarterly Business reviews, Technical Resource reviews, etc.)


·Institutionalize and sustain the CMMI and Honeywell Operating System (HOS) practices across HTS.


LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES


·Provide leadership and guidance to the RDT team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.


·Responsible for the Honeywell Performance Development (HPD), Global Compensation Planning (GCP), Management Resource Reviews (MRR), Succession planning, Technical Resource Reviews (TRR) and rewards and recognition for the engineers in RDT


·Driving effective people practices through effective hiring strategy, rewarding, motivating & retention strategy and talent differentiation for high performance.


·A good people leader, quick to identify people problems, fosters teamwork and ensures transparency and fairness in all actions.


·Good communicator of vision, ideas, and work requirement. Should have demonstrated transformational results (Innovation, Productivity, Technology) through cross collaboration.


·Keen and aware of the business and technological opportunities and challenges


Must have skills - 


·Bachelor’s or higher degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering


·18+ years of industry experience with 10+ years of experience in engineering relevant leadership roles


·Proven history of successfully delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget.


·Strong program management, process management, technology & strategy management skills experienced technical manager of development engineering.


·Strong people skills with the ability to facilitate diverse groups, help negotiate priorities and resolve conflicts.


·Ability to work in highly matrix environment and manage constant change and evolution.


·Keen and aware of the business and technological opportunities and challenges


·Strategic thinking and effective management implementation on complex projects


·Compelling evidence of change management expertise


·Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.


Value added experience and skills - 


·Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred)


·Proficient in project management tools and software


·Experience in driving process improvements and implementing best practices.


·Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities


·Collaborative mindset


·Passion for innovation and continuous learning
