A Day in the LifeThe primary role of the Deputy Manager-Compliance is to be the strategic business partner to guide business team(s) in framing compliant solutions in an individual contributor role. This role will provide advice and counsel on matters of compliance and ethical business practices to a business segment at Medtronic. The person will actively contribute to continued enhancement of the Compliance Program by executing and driving compliance strategy through collaborative interaction This position will be in Gurgaon or Mumbai in India and has responsibility mainly for India (subject to changes). The position will report directly to the India Compliance Officer.Key responsibilities include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Sound understanding of the healthcare industry, applicable laws, codes and regulations and business practices
- Work in close collaboration with functional team and commercial teams to drive compliance to policies, procedures and provide appropriate documentation and strategic advice
- Perform analytics, drive discussions and risk-based discussions with business through key compliance metrics.
- Assist in driving training program
- Reviews submissions of business interactions with HCPs/HCOs and sales/marking activities, conducts prior approvals and daily consultation to support OUs business operation
- Maintain oversight of the third party compliance risks through implementation of adequate screening procedures, on-site assessments, enhanced training and awareness and prompt remediation of compliance gaps.
- Develops, implements and delivers training of compliance policies and procedures including follow-through on training records and communications with employees and channel partners on training requirements
- Works closely with regional and global program teams to drive corporate compliance program. Supports India Compliance Officer on managing the compliance program on the ground and responsibility over India (subject to changes)
- Supports Compliance relevant knowledge transfer across countries in the organization
SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM: Typically an individual contributor with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. Delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering and overseeing the projects – from design to implementation - while and adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education.

Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
Experience Required.Minimum 6-14 years of experience is required in Ethics & Compliance role.
