Job Description – Senior Associate - Research


Sutherland is looking for driven and enthusiastic individuals that have a strong desire to succeed in the field of business research. Selected applicants will work with committed client teams that support secondary research, lead generation, and list building. Geographically, the coverage universe is broad (mostly US & Europe, but might be global).

Roles & Responsibilities


The candidate's main responsibility will be to use databases, secondary sources, and market research to find and provide possible business leads. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are also necessary for this role, as well as exceptional verbal and writing communication skills. The applicant needs to be able to prioritize their work, operate independently, and adhere to deadlines. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully generating leads and meeting or exceeding sales quotas. A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a related field is preferred.


As a Senior Associate - Research, roles and responsibilities will encompass, but not be limited to, the following:


  • Researching potential customers/leads: The candidate must have the ability to use market resources, databases to find potential leads. 
  • Qualifying leads: Ability to evaluate leads to determine their viability for the sales team. 
  • Excellent secondary research skills and knowledge of LinkedIn sales navigator and other databases such as zoominfo.
  • Collaborating closely with client analysts to establish project concepts and deliverables effectively.
  • Client communication: Ability to communicate with the client daily by sending daily deliverables, regular trackers and initiating profitable discussions, if needed.
  • Analyze and report on lead generation metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices for lead generation
  • Managing leads: Ability to organize data, maintain and update lead generation databases and customer contact records. 
  • Building relationships: Ability to work in teams and handle work pressure by providing timely output and troubleshooting any issues that may crop up in the way of delivering the output.
  • Complete adherence to quality and productivity requirements as per report types
  • Articulate and summarize work done and present/explain to the team leader for internal and client meetings

Delivering the highest service levels to clients and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures

To succeed in this position, you must have:


  • Up to 3 years of work experience.
  • Minimum Graduate qualification and experience in Market Research role is a plus
  • Strong language, writing and verbal skills to articulate one’s work to supervisor/client meetings 
  • Strong attention to detail, self-QC discipline and adherence to SOPs
  • Good time management and demonstrated ability to perform under stipulated timelines/SLAs 
  • Self-driven to learn new concepts by reading through training materials
  • Support the broader team in delivering timely requests
  • Fluent in MS Office suite Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Quality focused with attention to detail and client service
