Summary
Perform the required validations, parallel runs and work with the payroll processing, statutory compliance, and employee benefit administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while ensuring adherence to relevant statutory regulations. This role demands strong knowledge of payroll systems, compliance laws, and tax regulations, along with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform the regular Payroll / Statutory compliance process related activities along-with the fundamental validations.
- Ensure correct computation of salaries, bonuses, allowances, and statutory deductions (e.g., Provident Fund (PF), Employees’ State Insurance (ESI), Professional Tax (PT), and TDS).
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of statutory returns such as Provident Fund (PF), Employees’ State Insurance (ESI), Professional Tax (PT), TDS, and other relevant filings.
- Assists department in completing and understanding of statutory changes made by Government.
- Ensure compliance with all labour and taxation laws related to payroll, including timely payment of PF, ESI, and other statutory dues.
- Handle the employee queries and provide apt resolution on time for PF activities.
- Keep up to date with changes in labour laws and tax regulations, ensuring the organization remains compliant with all relevant statutes.
- Manage statutory audits, ensuring all required reports, registers, and records are accurately maintained and submitted to auditors or regulatory authorities.
- Liaise with external authorities, auditors, and government bodies to ensure all compliance matters are addressed in a timely manner.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance reports related to payroll and statutory matters.
- Ensure that all statutory records, such as PF forms, ESI statements, and income tax documents, are accurately maintained and compliant with legal requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation for all payroll-related processes and compliance activities, ensuring records are accessible for audits or inspections.
- Assist with reconciliation of payroll and statutory contributions and prepare reports for senior management.
- Provide support and guidance to junior payroll and compliance team members, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Support HR in employee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring all relevant payroll and statutory paperwork is adhered.
- Good knowledge in processing international worker PF process and related audits.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in payroll processing, statutory compliance, or a similar role, with a proven track record of handling complex payroll and compliance functions.
- Strong knowledge of Indian statutory compliance laws (e.g., PF, ESI, Professional Tax, Income Tax (TDS), and Gratuity) and their application in payroll.
- Knowledge of tax laws, wage regulations, and compensation structures.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality in handling payroll and compliance-related information.
- Ability to manage time-sensitive deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to address employee concerns and coordinate with external agencies or auditors.
- Ability to adapt to changes in statutory requirements and corporate policies.
