About this Position Independently formulate and develop customized formulations to meet specific color targets, demonstrating a proactive and self-driven approach with minimal guidance.
What you'll do - Technical Project Leadership: Work directly with global product development and project management teams.
- Raw Material Sourcing & Management: Coordinate and facilitate the sourcing and management of raw material samples from suppliers, PD, and/or plants.
- Cross-Functional Teamwork: Collaborate effectively across global cross-functional teams including product development, project management, application engineering and process engineering spanning multiple time zones.
- Innovation & Creativity: Actively seek new ideas and technologies internally and externally to enhance product performance and solve application challenges. Encourage and motivate others to adopt an innovative mindset.
- Analytical Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical issues by recognizing sources of problems, exposing gaps in logic and developing effective solutions.
- Advanced Chemistry Application: Develop innovative chemistry and color matching formulation approaches to improve application performance and address technical roadblocks.
- Safety & Compliance: Perform all laboratory work safely, adhering to regulations of safety, health and environment, PPE requirements and 5S processes. Support compliance and requirements for audit purpose (ISO, customer specific audits, etc).
- Communication: Present and communicate technical achievements effectively to internal and external audiences.
What makes you a good fit - PhD degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Sciences, Materials Science, or in any other related scientific areas, preferred.
- A background of color science and experience (greater than 5 years) in formulation-colored products and characterization is required.
- Candidate with M. S. or MTech. degree with track record of minimum 5 years of successful color matching/color product development activity in the relevant area will be preferred.
- Strong color matching skills and expertise with color matching software, and spectrophotometers is required.
• Experience with adhesive formulations such as polyurethanes and epoxy highly preferred.
- QC experience with colored product is preferred.
- Proven ability to work independently with strong initiative and minimal supervision.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working in cross-cultural and cross-functional global teams engaging with stakeholders.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and practices.
- A track record of innovative and creative problem-solving in a laboratory or industrial setting.
