Procurement Analyst


The Role: S&P Global is seeking a Procurement Analyst to join our dynamic team, reporting to the Director of IT Procurement and Contract Management. This role is pivotal in managing IT expenditures (hardware, software, and services) and suppliers, delivering value that drives organizational success.


What's in it for you: The Procurement Analyst will spearhead sourcing initiatives, collaborating with internal stakeholders (Key Business Owners, Legal, Risk Management, and Procurement relationship managers) and external partners (regulatory agencies and suppliers). Key responsibilities include coordinating contract modifications, managing contract interpretations, and facilitating communication regarding agreements and provider relationships.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Analyze IT spend baselines and develop category profiles.


  • Lead complex sourcing initiatives, including RFPs, while ensuring risk mitigation and policy compliance.


  • Recommend enhancements to sourcing practices for improved procurement and supplier management.


  • Present sourcing strategies based on business needs and market analysis.


  • Innovatively address ambiguous business requests.


  • Align negotiation strategies and manage contract negotiations.


  • Engage with senior management on complex issues.


  • Collaborate with legal teams to develop agreement content.


  • Create spending analytics and presentations to support sourcing metrics.


  • Drive operational efficiency across procurement processes.


  • Adapt to competitive and technological changes, ensuring sound risk management and governance practices.


  • This role is essential for achieving procurement objectives and fostering strong supplier relationships.


Qualifications:


  • Business degree, engineering degree and/or or equivalent experience


  • Ability to develop strategy and convert it into an implementation plan


  • Develop knowledge of practices, procedures and principles of a formal sourcing process, as well as the ability to apply them to various categories / circumstances.


  • Working knowledge and ability to articulate and negotiate common contractual terms and conditions, with experience in drafting various contract schedules (e.g. Statements of Work, SLAs, etc.)


  • Strong oral and written communication and influencing skills with appropriate business acumen.


  • Strong self-planning skills sufficient to plan own assignments according to general work plans; ability to multi-task, plan and meet timelines


  • Strong interactive skills to provide detailed explanation and interpretation of factual and conceptual information and ideas related to complex technical and conceptual issues.


  • Project management and stakeholder management skills.
