Role Summary/Purpose:


The Sourcing Leader- Casting Parts will be responsible to identify and drive proactive strategies for the India Casting Parts commodity with a clear focus on margin improvement, cash generation, supplier relationship management, dual source development, low-cost country spend migration, cross functional project management, supplier delivery performance management and service part productivity. This role will be responsible for strategic sourcing of parts for Domestic Freight and Transit Business as well as exports to America and EMEA region across business units.


Essential Responsibilities:


  • Deep experience & success doing global sourcing from India to Europe
  • Drive margin improvement by driving deflation projects across business units by using various levers like localization, YOY Productivity Sign Off, SCRI, Should Cost, Blend Management, negotiations, Logistics cost optimization and contract management.
  • Drive cash flow improvement projects across business units by improving the payment terms with the supply base.
  • YOY improvement in exports spend from India based suppliers to Wabtec Worldwide Sites by identifying deflation opportunities.
  • Negotiate and Sign off Long Term Agreements with preferred suppliers, which defines price corrections framework for commodity and currency movements and framework for COPQ, Warranty, PTA settlements.
  • Responsible for preparing Annual Budget / IOP / STRAP for the category team.
  • Present Monthly team performance in senior management level operation reviews.
  • Forecast deflation, synergy savings, tariff spend, expense & investment spend and cash improvement.
  • Work across business units to identify synergy savings.
  • Manage strategic relationship management at senior level management by conducting structured supplier relationship management reviews.
  • Improve material availability and quality by conducting QBR reviews, recovering costs incurred associated with defects, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions related to delivery delays, eliminating premium transportation, and ensuring all purchase orders are promised in a timely manner.
  • Develop and execute long term, global strategies for the critical Casting commodities.
  • Create short and long-term commodity strategies and influence cross functional team members.
  • Position the commodity for future success by enduring each part has multiple suppliers and negotiating strategic long-term supply agreements.
  • Work closely with shop operations and commercial / product management teams to prioritize cost out efforts where needed on specific products and programs.
  • Drive strategic projects to leverage India supply base for exports to America and EMEA region.
  • Manage spend of @ $ 60 Million with 50 Plus suppliers.
  • This role will have additional responsibility as Liaison for Freight Global business and will be working closely with America and EMEA regional sourcing teams for monthly governance and creating a strong pipeline of projects for exports.

Qualifications/Requirements:


  • Bachelor Of Engineering (Mechanical / Production).  Full Time MBA in Operations / Supply Chain / EMBA / CPSM will be an added advantage.
  • 15 to 17 year of experience in Strategic Global Sourcing of casting (large steel / grey) Casting parts.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time

  • Proven people management skills with clear vision and can-do attitude
  • ZERO based costing skills for engineered products.
  • Ability of frame long term commodity strategies with desired outcomes.
  • Strong project Management and Project Execution Skills.
  • IT skills with ability to manage complex data.
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Clear thinker with ability to lead team level projects with high sensitivity towards maintaining timeline
  • Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, Product Management, or Engineering background
  • Demonstrated background of building collaborative relationships
  • Strong Communicator with excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams such as engineering, NPI sourcing, quality, services, materials etc. to achieve timely project execution
  • Ability to work with Global Supply Base
  • Six Sigma training or equivalent Quality certification
  • Ability to manage global stakeholders.
