Job Description

- Work on and leading projects, including supplier transfers, exits, part transfers and localization projects, sourcing reviews, RFQ and RFP, productivity projects, critical supply recovery, risk mitigation and continuous improvement throughout the supply chain.
- Responsible for the coordination, implementation, control and completion of specific projects both domestically and globally - including their associated alignments with company-wide commodity and manufacturing strategies and preferred sourcing models
- Build project observing global sourcing project management process
- Present Project Progress and Status to partners and management team
- Manage procurement activities in Shanghai plant: delivery expedite, blocked invoice resolution, supplier management, business review with vendors, lean supply chain implementation, procurement process improvement
- Manage NPI project schedules, progress and costs to ensure that expected results are delivered on time and within budget.
- Improve sourcing plans, ensuring cost-effective procurement and building supplier relationships.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of projects
- Help define project scope, goals and deliverables
- Define project tasks and resource requirements
- Develop full scale project plans(schedule, timelines)
- Manage project budget/resource allocation
- Track project deliverables using appropriate tools
- Always monitor and report on progress of the projects to all partners
- Manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
- Achieve all project goals and objectives on time and or challenges and successfully implement solutions to realize project goals.
- Project evaluations and assessment of results
- Expedite with suppliers to secure the delivery from suppliers. Trouble-shooting with suppliers on delivery.
- Lead supply chain implementation tasks/projects to make breakthrough in supply management
- Support and manage major/critical supply recovery and assure continuity supply with no stock-out
- Find root cause of supply issues and find solutions to solve issues systematically.
- Manage suppliers On-Time delivery performance and is able to find ways to improve.
- Conduct tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality and environmental regulations (state regulations, ISO 9000, ISO 14000, etc) as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.
NPI Projects:
- Source Strategy Development: Identify cost reduction opportunities, analyze market trends, and develop sourcing strategies for assigned commodities to achieve cost and quality targets.
- Supplier management: Conduct supplier evaluations, negotiate contracts, manage supplier performance, and address quality issues to maintain optimal supplier relationships.
- RFP Process: Lead the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including defining requirements, evaluating bids, and selecting qualified suppliers.
- Cost Optimization: Implement cost-saving plans like tender bidding, value engineering, and supplier collaboration to increase total cost of ownership.
- Risk Mitigation: Find and address potential supply chain risks, including geopolitical factors, supplier capacity constraints, and quality issues.
- NPI Project Management: Manage sourcing projects from initiation to completion, including timelines, budgets, and milestones, ensuring delivery of procurement needs.

- Demonstrated to manage projects / assignments
- Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
- Be able to analyze cause of issues and find solutions to solve issues systematically

- Be communicate with partners ( SQE/Product Quality/Engineer) both within China and Oversea countries.

The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Technical/Engineering background required. Minimum Bachelor's Degree qualification.
- Minimum 8 years working experience on below areas: procurement, manufacturing engineering, project management or operations management.
- Experience project management in area of supply chain is required.
- Experience with NPI strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation
- CPIM, CPSM, or PMP similar certification.
- Experience on transferring product from high-cost country to low-cost country
- Improve across other teams to achieve project targets.
- You will be reporting to a Sourcing, Manager. You will be based in Chennai.
