Serving as the global procurement team member for mechanical parts categories to support global/regional category manager to achieve category objectives.
Conduct local supply market research to optimize the supply chain continuously for global sourcing and APAC region requirement.
To be sourced items include castings, gears, machined parts, and other mechanical components.
Proactively take actions in realizing various departmental targets, such as total cost reduction, suppliers’performance, suppliers’risk management and long term partnership development
Support the development and implementation of effective category strategies to ensure project or entity requirements are achieved in technology, quality, responsiveness, delivery, and cost.
Engage suppliers with any technical issues related to the products, cooperate with other colleagues to provide suppliers with necessary guidance if required.
Regularly report to management on suppliers’ production capacity and performance, such as price, service, quality, etc.
Make sure company’s procurement policies and procedures are followed in daily activities.
Manage new product introduction including cooperating with R&D and the supplier to optimize the design and get better price.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical engineering with minimum 7 years experience in strategic sourcing/purchasing, engineering or other related functions.
Understand the machining process, knowledge of machining cost is preferred.
Strong sourcing experience in mechanical parts etc..
Good understanding of components specification and manufacturing process.
Self-driven, result, process and teamwork oriented.
Strong English communication ability in speaking, writing and reading.
Experience working in a global environment is preferred
Strong analytical ability. Strong professional negotiating skills .Good business judgment and risk management skills. High personal integrity and ethical standards
Solid computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
