Solution Architect-Point of Sale

You´ll be part of the Global Digital department, focuses on delivering Commercial solutions in Deco and P&C.


We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our Point of Sale (POS) systems. The Solution Architect will be responsible for developing and maintaining POS architecture strategies that align with business objectives, ensuring seamless integration with other business systems, and driving enhancements for scalability, security, and performance. This role requires a deep understanding of retail operations, POS solutions, and experience in architecting solutions that improve the customer experience at the point of purchase.


Job Description Summary


Responsible for designing and developing solutions, including infrastructure, security, integration and test of the solutions according to existing strategies, principles and best-practices to meet the organization’s current and future business needs. This involves understanding existing systems and technology, including comprehending the relationships, dependencies and flows of information.


Your responsibilities will also include:


· Architect and Design POS Solutions: Lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable POS systems that integrate seamlessly with backend systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, inventory management).


· Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, including operations, finance, and IT, to define system requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.


· Integration and Interoperability: Design integration points with external systems, such as payment gateways, loyalty programs, inventory systems, and e-commerce platforms, ensuring data consistency and real-time updates.


· Performance and Optimization: Analyze current POS architecture, identify areas of improvement, and implement solutions to enhance system performance, scalability, and reliability.


· Security and Compliance: Ensure all POS solutions comply with industry standards, such as PCI-DSS, and implement best practices for data protection, including encryption and secure data handling.


· Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams, ensuring high-quality implementation of POS solutions and fostering best practices in architecture.


· Vendor Management: Collaborate with third-party vendors to assess POS solutions, manage software updates, and ensure alignment with our technical and business requirements.


· Innovation and Industry Trends: Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, advocating for continuous improvement and the adoption of new POS features that enhance customer experiences.


Required education, experience and job-related skills:


· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.


· 5+ years of experience in solution architecture, with a strong focus on POS systems.


· In-depth knowledge of POS systems, hardware, and software.


· Proven experience with POS integrations, payment processing, and retail operations.


· Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, including PCI-DSS.


· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.


· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.


· Experience with cloud-based POS solutions and familiarity with SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS platforms.


Preferred Qualifications:


· Experience with e-commerce integrations and omnichannel retail strategies.


· Knowledge of mobile POS solutions and experience with both in-store and online payment systems.


· Familiarity with data analytics and business intelligence as it relates to POS systems.
