About the Role:
We are looking for a Junior Security Engineer to join our security team and contribute to strengthening our organization’s security posture. In this role, you will assist in identifying vulnerabilities, conducting security assessments, and collaborating with development and operations teams to ensure secure coding practices. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about cybersecurity and eager to learn and grow in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to identify and mitigate risks.
Collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams to remediate security issues in applications and infrastructure.
Support compliance and regulatory initiatives by aligning security best practices with standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR.
Research and stay updated on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
Document security policies, procedures, and assessment findings to improve internal security practices.
1-3 years of experience in cybersecurity, security assessments, or related fields.
Basic understanding of security principles, including OWASP Top 10, network security, encryption, and familiarity with security tools such as Burp Suite, Wireshark, Nmap, and Metasploit.
Exposure to scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Java).
Experience working with Linux, Windows, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Eagerness to learn, adapt, and collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
Security certifications such as Security+, CEH, or other relevant beginner-level credentials.
Understanding of secure coding practices and DevSecOps principles.
