About the Job
The Red Hat OpenStack engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to join us in Pune, India.
In this role, you will collaborate with upstream communities and lead the build-out and continuous improvement of the continuous integration (CI) process for the Red Hat OpenStack Platform deployment project. You'll contribute to tooling frameworks, issue troubleshooting, and resolution of Red Hat OpenStack Platform services.
As a Software Engineer, you will participate as a member of a geographically distributed team, using multiple communication tools for close collaboration. You'll need to have passion for modern open source development methods, an interest in SDET, and a desire to apply broad software engineering skills to automation. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What will you do
Become a contributing member of the open source community to develop CI framework tools like Red Hat OpenStack Platform’s Zuul, Jenkins, GitHub, and GitLab CI
Contribute to the delivery of Red Hat OpenStack Platform on OpenShift release cadence
Participate in upstream and internal continuous integration and continuous delivery (CD)
Inspire and guide technical direction and content within the community and Red Hat
Work with the Red Hat OpenStack Platform deployment and upstream CI teams to improve automation coverage
Proactively define and implement automated tooling
Maintain and troubleshoot issues in the Red Hat OpenStack Platform production chain pipeline
What will you bring
Exceptional Linux development experience
DevOps pipeline experience using Red Hat OpenStack Platform
Passion for open source software development
Deep understanding of cloud computing and configuration management
Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform is a must
Focus on test-driven development (TDD) and good knowledge of unit testing frameworks and methodologies
Experience developing in Python and shell scripting
Familiarity with CI and CD
Ability to work in a distributed team environment
Experience using, developing, or administering Red Hat OpenStack Platform environments and Red Hat OpenShift including the knowledge of Red Hat OpenStack Platform and Zuul is a big plus
