We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level. 


As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset & Wealth Management, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.


Job responsibilities


  • Executes & assists in the implementation of site reliability principles and practices within your team.
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications. Collaborate with senior engineers to create and maintain observability and reliability designs for systems. Support the development of high-quality designs, roadmaps, and program charters under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and provides support to other engineers and seek advice on technical and business-related issues.
  • Proactively participates in regular resiliency testing, including wargames, failover exercises, and chaos experiments, to ensure system stability.
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies. Assist in debugging and evolving critical components of applications and platforms.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Basic understanding of site reliability culture and principles, with a willingness to learn and implement SRE practices.
  • Familiarity with observability tools and concepts such as monitoring, alerting, and telemetry collection.
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure and microservice-based design principles.
  • Basic knowledge of software applications and technical processes, with a desire to deepen expertise in one or more technical disciplines.
  • Ability to assist in toil reduction and automation solutions using programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot defects found during testing.
  • Good communication skills with a willingness to learn from and collaborate with others.
